In this reading group we aim to cover the fundamentals of Symplectic Floer Homology from scratch. Floer Theory has far reaching applications in areas as diverse as dynamical systems, low-dimensional topology, algebraic geometry, and theoretical physics. Therefore, having an understanding of how this subject works is likely to be useful for a wide range of mathematicians.
The format will be 1-2h weekly meetings, and volunteer attendants will give the week's lecture on the topics we decide the week prior. Feel free to come regardless of if you want to present!
Audin-Damian, Morse Theory and Floer Homology
Chris Wendl, Lectures on Holomorphic Curves in Symplectic and Contact Geometry
Sessions will take place weekly
