Flight Simulator Online

Live players and all players both show people who are online. The difference between live and all is what your time/weather settings are locked to. Live players ONLY shows other online players who are using live time and weather, this is why the weather button on the in game tab doesnt work. All players shows any player currently online, regardless of what time or weather they have set.

I have been trying to play Microsoft flight sim 2020 online with live players but I never see anyone. I also tried to play in a group with a friend but in the friends list we see eachother as offline or disconnected, so we can't even invite eachother.

It hasn't always been like this, some time ago I was able to play online and with my friend without any problems but after not playing for a few weeks /month I am now trying to play online again and it doesn't seem to work anymore.

Same issue yesterday with a friend.

Both of us are on Steam version in Windows 10, both online, both on the same server (we tried West Europe, then North Europe)

I could see him online, but he kept seeing me offline. Also he was not receiving my invitations to join a group.

Following the advice at the beginning of this topic, I went to inspect my XBox profile privacy/online settings and everything seemed fine, no blocking setting, all were set to visible to everybody or friends.

I have not tried online log books. But after finding that the free littlenavmap have a good logbook i just use that because fs2020 logbook is not working and when it is, then it is too rudimentary. - (Btw. littlenavmap is much more than a logbook)

I too seem to be getting offline errors mid flight and on final (annoying). Then seconds later it goes online. Maybe this is Asobo working on a hotfix or server issues? Non the less I have not had connection issues prior to SU5

I was wondering if anyone knew how to display the correct aircraft models on group flights, for example we both select the stock C152 - and while flying together in a staggeringly beautiful simulated world, are each confronted with an incongruously bad model of a generic Bonanza or something similar. The propeller appears to be stopped and when a floatplane or taildragger is selected looks totally bizarre.

In preparation for the XBOX release of FS2020 in two weeks time, does anybody know of any online job boards where missions or flight plans are randomly generated that can be integrated into the XBOX version?

I hope microsoft can develop a online map/tracking system that can be viewed via website that shows all the current online multiplayer flights in msfs and without needing msfs installed.

This would be great for ATC and us virtual airline operators.

Seeing this is one world application I would think that this would be easy to put together.

I play with live weather and live online and quite enjoy occasionally bumping into real people (not literally) whilst flying but honestly, I am not sure i want to advertise to the world that I am online and in VR or letting anyone who wants to know, exactly what i am doing and when I am doing it.

OK, thanks, @plainsman. I will check again, but lately the status is shown as offline every time I look. It doesn't seem to change for a few seconds at a time. But actual flight seems ok - scenery is there during flight even in areas I haven't flown in before.

I haven't checked this by pausing in the air in the middle of a flight - only when on the ground setting up a new flight. Maybe online status happens only when in the air? Not sure - I just assumed that MSFS is supposed to be online whenever the sim is running. Is that incorrect?

Some more info - just took a flight and after landing and exiting the flight checked the username button. It said "offline" as the status. But the server line, while still greyed out, said "Automatic" and "25ms" and had a green wifi icon. (My computer is wired, not using wifi.)

When you click on the username button there is a dropdown for STATUS, it's not the online status. The options if you click on STATUS are Online, Offline, Busy, Away. That STATUS is to hide from your "Friends" by clicking AWAY.:)

I was having a CTD (After a couple updates ago) every thirty minutes sometimes a couple hours depending where I was flying the came across a forum thread I forget where but try turning off the ai traffic offline and online. I have been experimenting a couple of months now and have same issue with the AI traffic. If I leave it off the MSFS will fly all night. I really like having AI traffic like FSX WOAI and MAIW.. If they have the feature in the program why can't I get it to work? Anyone else have this issue? I am trying to give these Asobo Designers the benefit of the doubt I understand it is all about money but hey I spent a hundred bucks on their software and their support system is worthless took them two months to respond to my support ticket and then they said they couldn't help me and the website gives more questions than answers. Fortunately we still have this forum. Anyway here is the computer I am using for MSFS and it does run the program rather well.
