As a PTO, our mission is to develop enrichment activities and increase learner coach involvement in social events, fundraising opportunities and service learning that enhance and promote the mission and vision of the Flex Academy.

These roles sound official on paper, but really, it's all about pitching in to make school better for our kids—while having some fun along the way. If you can balance a checkbook and throw your kid a birthday party you have the skills to help keep this PTO moving. 😄 If anyone steps up, they'll be a total rockstar in our book.
President (aka The Friendly Ringmaster)
You're basically the cheerful captain of the ship!
Handle the emails and messages so nothing gets lost in the inbox black hole
Send out friendly "hey, meeting time!" reminders every couple of months
Put together a simple agenda so meetings don't turn into endless chit-chat marathons
Run the meetings with a smile (keep things moving, make sure everyone gets a turn to speak)
Be the go-to person for teachers and staff—think of yourself as the parent liaison who says, "We've got this!"
Show up to outside meetings representing our crew (school events, district stuff, etc.)
Gently nudge all the other officers so we're all rowing in the same direction to support kids and families
Vice President (aka The Super Helpful Backup Buddy)
This one's optional but super nice to have—like having a co-pilot!
Jump in to help the President whenever needed
Step up and run things if the President is out sick, on vacation, or just needs a breather
Secretary (aka The Memory Keeper & Note-Taking Ninja)
You're the one who makes sure we remember what we actually decided!
Keep all the group's important papers and history organized (no digging through old emails at 2 a.m.)
Take notes during meetings and get them to the President afterward
Post the approved minutes on our PTO Parent Page so everyone can stay in the loop
Share a copy with the Flex Academy admin assistant for the school website
Bring the "minutes book," bylaws, and any rules to meetings (like the group's trusty backpack of knowledge)
Treasurer (aka The Money Wrangler & Budget Hero)
You're our careful cash guardian—keeping everything transparent and drama-free!
Collect any money coming in (fundraisers, dues, etc.)
Track every penny in and out like a pro (receipts are your best friend)
Pay bills and reimbursements quickly (within 14 days once approved—no one waits forever for their coffee run receipt)
Give a quick money update at every meeting, plus bigger quarterly and year-end reports (wrap it up by August 31 for the September meeting)
Keep our membership list up to date and let the President know who's good to vote at meetings
Please reach out to Aimee, Bobbi, or Melissa if you are interested!
