Portraits of Pride
Gilbert Baker, the creator of the rainbow Pride flag, never protected his creation with a trademark or copyright because he believed the flag belonged to everyone. The rainbow Pride flag is represented on just about every possible item you can image from clothing to dish ware to pins and wristbands and even food.
People wear the flag to make themselves visible as member or allies of the LGBTQ+ community. The personal wearing of the flag creates connection with a resilient, powerful, and special community that intersects with and transcends all other aspects of human identity.
