INJURY REPORT…
> Patient arrived with extensive chest and stomach trauma due to a 939 attack.
> Multiple severe lacerations across the thoracic wall, extending from the left hypochondriac region to the right iliac region.
> Severe external and internal hemorrhage.
> Ribs 3, 4, and 5 fractured.
> Left lung partially punctured by Rib 4.
> Imaging shows partial left pneumothorax.
SURGICAL REPORT…
> Patient rapidly sedated and intubated. Stabilized via blood transfusions to combat hypovolemic shock.
> Major vessels in the pectoral region carefully clamped and sutured; arterial and venous tears addressed.
> Bleeding stabilized; fractured rib sections secured using plates and screws to prevent further internal damage.
> Chest tubes inserted to drain blood and air from the pleural cavity, relieving the pneumothorax.
> Torn pectoralis major and minor muscles repaired with layered sutures.
> Wound irrigated to remove debris and prevent infection.
POST OPERATIVE REPORT…
> Patient stabilized post-op but remains in critical condition, requiring ventilation support to maintain lung function.
