1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Fix & Restore Old Photos: Fixy ("Fixy", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how your data is handled.
By using Fixy, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Photos You Provide
When you use our photo restoration features (Enhance, Colorize, Descratch, Upscale, Object Remove), you select photos from your device's photo library. Before any photo is sent for processing, the app will ask for your explicit consent, clearly explaining what data is shared, who processes it, and how it is protected. Photos are only sent to our third-party AI processing servers after you have reviewed and accepted these terms. These photos are temporarily uploaded solely to perform the requested restoration or editing task.
We do not store your photos on our servers after processing is complete. Once the AI processing is finished and the result is returned to your device, your original and processed photos are not retained on any external server.
We do not access your entire photo library. We only access the specific photos you manually select for processing.
2.2 Purchase Information
If you subscribe to Fixy Pro, your purchase is processed through Apple's App Store and our subscription management partner, RevenueCat. We do not collect or store your payment details such as credit card numbers. Apple and RevenueCat handle all payment processing. We only receive a confirmation of your subscription status (active or inactive) to unlock premium features in the app.
2.3 Locally Stored Data
The following data is stored locally on your device only and is never transmitted to us or any third party:
- Your app preferences and settings (such as theme selection)
- Whether you have completed the onboarding flow
- Your credit balance and usage history
- Your processing history (original and result images saved locally)
- Whether you have been asked to rate the app
This data is stored using Apple's standard on-device storage (UserDefaults and the app's local documents directory). You can delete this data at any time by deleting the app from your device.
2.4 Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect:
- Your name, email address, or contact information
- Your location data
- Device identifiers for advertising or tracking purposes
- Browsing history or activity outside the app
- Contacts, calendar, or any other personal data from your device
3. User Consent for AI Processing
Before the first time any photo is sent to our third-party AI service, the app presents a consent screen that clearly discloses:
- What data is shared: Only the specific photo you selected for processing.
- Who processes it: Your photo is processed by Gemini AI, routed securely through AIProxy.
- How it is protected: Photos are transmitted over encrypted connections and are never stored, retained, or used for AI training.
You must explicitly agree to these terms before any photo data leaves your device. If you decline, no photo data is sent and the processing feature is not used. Your consent choice is remembered so you are not asked again on subsequent uses.
4. How Your Photos Are Processed (Technical Details)
When you use any of Fixy's photo restoration or editing features, the selected photo is sent to a third-party AI service for processing. Here is how this works:
- Your photo is transmitted securely over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) to our AI processing provider.
- The AI service processes your photo to perform the requested task (such as enhancement, colorization, scratch removal, upscaling, or object removal).
- The processed result is returned to your device.
- Your photo is not stored, saved, or retained on the AI processing servers after the task is complete.
- Your photo is not used to train AI models or for any purpose other than completing your requested task.
We use AIProxy as an intermediary service to securely route requests to Google's Gemini AI. Both AIProxy and Google process your photo data solely to fulfill the image processing request.
5. Third-Party Services
Fixy uses the following third-party services:
5.1 AIProxy and Google Gemini AI
Purpose: AI-powered photo processing (enhancement, colorization, scratch removal, upscaling, object removal).
Your selected photos are sent to these services for processing. Photos are transmitted securely and are not retained after processing is complete.

5.2 RevenueCat
Purpose: Subscription and in-app purchase management.
RevenueCat receives anonymous purchase data from Apple to manage your subscription status. It does not receive your photos, personal information, or any data beyond what is necessary to verify your subscription.

5.3 Apple App Store
Purpose: Payment processing for subscriptions.
All payments are handled by Apple. We do not receive or store any payment or billing information.

6. Data Security
We take the security of your data seriously:
- All photo data transmitted for AI processing is sent over encrypted HTTPS connections.
- We do not maintain our own servers or databases that store your personal data or photos.
- Your locally stored app data is protected by your device's built-in security features (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID).
- We do not share, sell, or rent your photos or personal information to any third party for marketing, advertising, or any purpose unrelated to providing the app's functionality.
7. Children's Privacy
Fixy is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe that a child under 13 has provided personal information through our app, please contact us and we will promptly delete such information.
8. Data Retention
- Photos: Not retained. Your photos are only temporarily transmitted for AI processing and are not stored on any external server after the result is delivered to your device.
- Local app data: Stored on your device until you delete the app.
- Subscription data: Managed by Apple and RevenueCat according to their respective retention policies.
9. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Consent to or decline AI photo processing. The app will not send any photo data to third-party services without your explicit agreement.
- Choose which photos to share with the app for processing. We never access your photo library without your explicit selection.
- Delete all locally stored data by deleting the app from your device.
- Manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID account settings.
- Contact us with any questions or concerns about your privacy.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Your continued use of Fixy after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
