Fiwo - FireWork online academy is a Filipino 1-1 online English center established on February 25, 2021. We aim to provide a friendly working environment with full of benefits for teachers including:
Salary is paid according to the teacher's ability and requirements.
Pay the full cost of transferring money to the teacher's bank account in the Philippines (you don't have to pay any fees for receiving and withdrawing money)
Requirements for teachers:
FIWO does not require experience for teachers. We need fun, energetic teachers and want to be a good teacher. We will train teachers from basic skills. However, if you are a new teacher, you will have a little fewer classes at first because students may not be impressed with you right away, but after 2-3 weeks you can catch up with other teachers.
A prerequisite is that you must ensure that you teach consistently and without sudden breaks. Teach for a long period of time because students will study with you for at least 6 months to 1 year.
If you are an experienced teacher, FIWO will provide you with a professional working environment and maximum support for teachers. We will help you soon get over 150-200 classes/month in just 1-2 months
It is important for teachers to ensure that classes are open from 6:30 pm VNT - 9:30 pm VNT (7:30 pm MNL - 10:30 pm MNL). From Monday to Saturday. If you still have some old students, we can accept you to keep some of the busy hours a month. Then you have to make sure it's empty the whole time
Students:
Children from 5-15 years old
Newcomers approach English
People who want to learn English for casual communication
If you want, you can take on more difficult students, and that will further enhance your reputation.
About the teaching platform:
Teachers will use the Blackboard feature of the Classin application (no need to register for a paid account) and call students via Zoom, Voov, use the screen sharing feature to conduct the lesson. In some cases.
About the teaching system:
System for accepting students (not a booking system): Students after a trial lesson will study permanently with you. FIWO won't change your students unless you make them complain about the quality of teaching
Teaching time:
Teachers need to ensure that they can teach in the minimum time frame from 7pm to 10pm Vietnam time except Sunday. Other time frames teachers can actively open to have more students
Curriculum and teaching process:
FIWO will provide the entire curriculum during the course of study
The level of students, the required curriculum, and the time of the lesson will be announced in advance and sent to the students and teachers before the first trial session.
About teaching time:
Class 25 minutes:
1 minute warm up
3 minutes to check homework
20 minutes to learn new lesson
1 minute homework assignment
Class 55 minutes:
2 minutes warm up
5 -10 minutes to check homework
40-45 minutes of teaching new lesson
3 minutes to assign homework
Salary per lesson:
In case you choose the salary in the normal direction, it will start at 70 pesos/25 minutes and 140 pesos/55 minutes. Bonus 500 pesos if you teach more than 100 classes. Bonus 750 pesos if you teach more than 150 classes and bonus 1000 pesos if you teach more than 200 classes/month (not cumulative). Successful trial classes will be paid as official classes and we will consider increasing the salary every 3 - 6 months depending on your performance.
We promise to keep your salary at 75 pesos/25 minute class from the 3rd month onwards + bonus if you teach regularly and perform well
(Read FAQ #1 to better understand why 25-minute and 55-minute classes are so paid)
About trial classes:
The successful trial class will be calculated as the regular salary and it will be counted towards your bonus for the number of classes. However, if you teach many trial classes but no students agree to study, FIWO can reduce the number of students to study trial class with you.
Time to receive salary:
Salary will be received once a month, before the 5th of the following month. To receive the salary on time, teachers need to complete the class report on the last day of the month. In case the payday is the weekend, we can transfer it to the beginning of next week. If you teach and do not miss any lessons in the first 15 days, and do not receive complaints from parents, you can ask FIWO to pay you one more time on the 15th day. We will calculate the lessons yours from 1-15 and return it to you. For mid-month payments, teachers will be charged a 150 peso salary transfer fee.
Working mode:
Teachers are highly rated by students: Few students drop out or complain every month; Students refer other students to the teacher; trial class success rate is high; those who do not drop out of class will be given priority to be referred to students until there are enough students
In case the teacher has personal problems and needs to sudden leave, please notify FIWO 1 day in advance so that we can arrange with the students. Your absence will not be assessed, however taking a long break can cause students to lose their patience and ask for a change of teacher, so we do not recommend this.
FIWO will try to arrange for teachers with at least 100 classes from the 2nd working month
Salary increase roadmap
Bonus:
500 pesos when teaching over 100 classes (including trial teaching) 25 minutes/month (55 minutes counts as 2 classes of 25 minutes)
750 pesos for teaching over 150 classes (including trial lessons) 25 minutes/month (55 minutes counts as 2 classes of 25 minutes)
1000 pesos for teaching over 200 classes (including trial lessons) 25 minutes/month (55 minutes counts as 2 classes of 25 minutes)
Current basic salary for new teachers: 55 - 70 pesos/25 minutes; 110 - 140 pesos/55 minutes + Bonus
Form of salary increase consideration:
After every 3 months, FIWO will consider increasing teachers' salaries once. Starting from a base salary of 70 pesos + bonus.
Qualified teachers will receive an increase of 5 pesos each time. This increase in salary will apply to new students enrolling at the time the teacher is calculated for the new salary. For old classes, the salary will remain fixed at the teacher's salary at the time the student enrolls.
For new students transferred to teachers who are already FIWO students - usually due to transfers from other teachers - FIWO will negotiate salaries with the teachers of those students. Teachers have the right to refuse to accept students if they feel the salary is not attractive.
Conditions for salary increase consideration:
To be considered for a salary increase, teachers must meet the following requirements:
No more than 4 students absent in a month or complaints from students
Teach more than 100 classes/month
Do not take any leave for any reason 4 days/month (Or miss more than 20 classes)
If the teacher does not reach the above level, the salary increase will be delayed, but not recalculated. For example, in the second month you do not reach the target, you will have to wait another 2 months to get a salary increase instead of 3 months.
The salary increase condition will be applied except in case that month has a holiday. Based on the average number of days in the month to calculate the number of sessions/day and from there calculate whether the teacher is actually eligible for a salary increase
Conditions for early salary increase:
Teachers can be considered for an early salary increase if they meet the conditions for salary increase consideration and meet one or more of the following criteria:
Introducing more quality teachers
Support teaching for other teachers when they request
Contribute to expertise to help improve classroom quality and apply it in practice
Make regulatory contributions that improve the effectiveness of FIWO

After you receive the notification that you have passed step 3, you will prepare a 20-minute trial lesson. Including 10 minutes for children, 10 minutes for adults. Materials used in the demo lesson are provided below. You choose a content in the textbook to teach. You don't need to teach the whole lesson, just teach the most interesting in those 10 minutes.

Hint: the document you send when you download it may be in ".zip" or ".RAR" format. This is the usual format for compressing data because often a lot of documents are heavy and it takes a lot of work to load them one by one, so when you download you need to decompress it before using or uploading to Classin. To do this you need to download and install winrar for free.
You can download free here
You can learn how to install winrar here
After the installation is complete, navigate to the folder where you saved the downloaded document file. Right click on the .zip or .rar document you downloaded and select "Extract Here" then a folder will appear containing the documents you need.
Step 5:
FIWO will arrange a trial lesson date and time with the teacher and create a trial class on Zoom. The teacher must record the video of the lesson and after the trial lesson please send it back to the trial group.

Q: Why is the wage for 55 minutes double that of 25 minutes instead of it being more?
Answer: In the early days of operation. Initially, we did not advocate a 25-minute class. only 55 min class for 140 pesos. Due to the needs of our students, we are testing the 25-minute class. In other words, the 25-minute class is being offered a preferential rate for teachers of 70 pesos instead of 65 pesos if it is charged for the 55-minute class. We put that price to incentivize teachers to teach the 25-minute class. However, teachers often prefer the 55-minute class because they will have a stable income and will have less vacant hours, thereby helping them to have a better income.
Q: Is this a Booking system?
Answer: No, our system gives you fixed and unchanged students, it's very different from the booking system. The Booking system will have a lot of empty hours and will not receive money from those empty hours. With FIWO's system, if you have a successful trial and students want to study with you, they will stay with you for a long time as long as they are still studying at FIWO.
Q: Can I receive my salary many times in 1 month?
Answer: maybe, if by the time you want to receive your salary, you have taught more than 100 class, you can claim to receive salary, but we will not pay the salary transfer as the last time of the month, so you will lose about 150 pesos / 1 transfer
Q: How long will it take for the CV review process and the final results after the trial session
Answer: It will take 1-2 days for the application process. 1 day to get the results of the trial lesson
