Saheeh Al-Bukhārī

Book 65, No. 4709:

Narrated Abu-Hurayrah: Allāh's Apostle was presented with two cups one containing wine and the other milk on the night of his night journey at Jerusalem. He looked at it and took the milk. Gabriel said, "Thanks to Allāh Who guided you to the Fiṭrah (i.e. Islam); if you had taken the wine, your followers would have gone astray.

Book 77, No. 105:

Narrated Ibn Umar: The Prophet said, "To get the moustaches cut short is characteristic of the Fiṭrah."

Book 77, No. 106:

Narrated Abu-Hurayrah: Allāh's Apostle said, "Five practices are characteristics of the Fiṭrah: circumcision, shaving the pubic region, clipping the nails and cutting the moustaches short."

Book 77, No. 107:

Narrated Ibn 'Umar: Allāh's Apostle said, "To shave the pubic hair. to clip the nails and to cut the moustaches short, are characteristics of the Fiṭrah."

Book 77, No. 108:

Narrated Abu-Hurayrah: I heard the Prophet saying. "Five practices are characteristics of the Fiṭrah: circumcision, shaving the pubic hair, cutting the moustaches short, clipping the nails, and depilating the hair of the armpits."

Book 79, No. 69:

Narrated Abu-Hurayrah: The Prophet said "Five things are in accordance with Al Fiṭrah (i.e. the tradition of prophets): to be circumcised, to shave the pelvic region, to pull out the hair of the armpits, to cut short the moustaches, and to clip the nails.'

Saheeh Muslim

Book 2, No. 64:

Abu-Hurayrah reported: Five are the acts quite akin to the Fiṭrah, or five are the acts of Fiṭrah: circumcision, shaving the pubes, cutting the nails, plucking the hair under the armpits and clipping the moustache.

Book 2, No. 65:

Abu-Hurayrah reported: Five are the acts of Fiṭrah: circumcision, removing the pubes, clipping the moustache, cutting the nails, plucking the hair under the armpits.

Book 2, No. 71:

'A'ishah reported: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: Ten are the acts according to Fiṭrah: clipping the moustache, letting the beard grow, using the tooth-stick, snuffing water in the nose, cutting the nails, washing the finger joints, plucking the hair under the armpits, shaving the pubes and cleaning one's private parts with water. The narrator said: I have forgotten the tenth, but it may have been rinsing the mouth.

Book 46, No. 34:

There is none born but is created to his true nature (Islām). It is his parents who make him a Jew or a Christian or a Magian quite as beasts produce their young with their limbs perfect. Do you see anything deficient in them? Then he quoted the Qur'ān, "The nature made by Allah in which He has created men there is no altering of Allah's creation; that is the right religion" (30:33)

Book 46, No. 36:

Abu-Hurayrah reported Allāh's Messenger ﷺ as saying: No child is born but upon Fiṭrah. He then said. Recite: The nature made by Allāh in which He created man, there is no altering of Allāh's nature; that is the right religion."

Book 46, No. 37:

Abu-Hurayrah reported Allāh's Messenger ﷺ as saying: No babe is born but upon Fiṭrah. It is his parents who make him a Jew or a Christian or a Polytheist. A person said: Allāh's Messenger, what is your opinion if they were to die before that (before reaching the age of adolescence when they can distinguish between right and wrong)? He said: It is Allāh alone Who knows what they would be doing.

Book 46, No. 38:

It is reported on the authority of Abu-Mu'awiya that (the Holy Prophet) said: Every new-born babe is born on the millat (of Islam and he) remains on this until his tongue is enabled to express himself.

This hadeeth has been narrated on the authority of Abu-Mu'awiya through another chain of transmitters (and the words are):" Every child is born but on this Fitra so long as he does not express himself with his tongue."

Book 46, No. 39:

Abu-Hurayrah reported from Allāh's Messenger ﷺ many ahadeeth and one amongst them is that he is reported to have said: An infant is born according to his (true) nature. It is his parents Who make him a Jew, a Christian, just as a she-camel gives birth to its young ones. Do you find any deficiency in their limbs? You cut their ears (i. e. after birth). They (the Companions) said: What is your opinion about him who dies in infancy? Thereupon Allāh's Apostle ﷺ said: It is Allāh alone Who knows best what they would be doing.

Book 46, No. 40:

Abu-Hurayrah reported Allāh's Messenger ﷺ as saying: The mother of every person gives him birth according to his true nature. It is subsequently his parents who make him a Jew or a Christian or a Magian. Had his parents been Muslim he would have also remained a Muslim. Every person to whom his mother gives birth (has two aspects of his life); when his mother gives birth Satan strikes him but it was not the case with Mary and her son (Jesus Christ).

Book 48, No. 75:

Al-Bara' b. 'Azib reported that Allāh's, Messenger ﷺ said: When you go to bed, perform ablution as is done for prayer; then lie down on the right side and recite:" O Allāh, I turn my face towards Thee and entrust my affair to Thee. I retreat unto Thee for protection with hope in Thee and fear of Thee. There is no resort and no deliverer (from hardship) but Thou only. I affirm my faith in Thine books which Thou revealed and in Thine Apostles whom Thou sent." Make this as the last word of yours (when you go to sleep) and in case you die during that night, you would die upon Fiṭrah (upon Islam). And as I repeated these words in order to commit them to memory, I said:" I affirm my faith in Thy Messenger (Rasul) whom Thou sent." He said: Say:" I affirm my faith in the Apostle (Nabi) whom Thou sent."

Book 48, No. 77:

Al-Bara' b. 'Azib reported that Allāh's Messenger ﷺ commanded a person (in these words): When you go to bed during night, you should say:" O Allāh, I surrender myself to Thee and entrust my affair to Thee, with hope in Thee and fear of Thee. There is no resort and no deliverer (from hardship but Thou). I affirm my faith in the Book which Thou revealed and in the Messengers whom Thou sent." If you die in this state you would die on Fiṭrah, and Ibn Bashshdr did not make a mention of" night" in this hadeeth.

Book 48, No. 78:

This hadeeth has been transmitted on the authority of al-Bara' b. 'Azib that Allāh's Messenger ﷺ said to a person: O, so and so, as you go to your bed; the rest of the hadith is the same but with this variation of wording that he said:" Thine Apostle whom Thou sent." If you die that night you would die on Fiṭrah and if you get up in the morning you would get up with a bliss.

Sunan Abu-Dāwūd

Book 1, Number 52:

Narrated `Aishah, Ummul Mu'minin: The Apostle of Allāh ﷺ said: Ten are the acts according to Fiṭrah (nature): clipping the moustache, letting the beard grow, using the tooth-stick, cutting the nails, washing the finger joints, plucking the hair under the arm-pits, shaving the pubes, and cleansing one's private parts (after easing or urinating) with water. The narrator said: I have forgotten the tenth, but it may have been rinsing the mouth.

Imām Malik's Muwatta

Book 16, Number 16.16.53:

Yahya related to me from Malik from Abu'z Zinad from al-Araj from Abu-Hurayrah that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said, "Every child is born on the Fiṭrah and it is his parents who make him a Jew or a Christian. Just as a camel is born whole - do you perceive any defect?" They said, "Messenger of Allāh, what happens to people who die when they are (very) young?" He said, "Allāh knows best what they used to do."

Book 49, Number 49.3.3:

Yahya related to me from Malik from Said ibn Abi-Saeed al-Maqburi from his father that Abu-Hurayrah said, "There are five things from the Fiṭrah: cutting the nails, trimming the moustache, removing the hair from the armpit, shaving the pubic region and circumcision."
