FitMateLog ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. 

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (the "App"). 

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully.
If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not use the App. 

1. Information 

We Collect Personal Information

We may collect personally identifiable information that you voluntarily provide to us when you register or use the App,

such as:
• Name
• Email address
• Profile picture
• Username Non-Personal Information 

We may collect non-personal information about you whenever you interact with our App.

Non-personal information may include the device name, version of the operating system, and other diagnostic data.

Health and Fitness Data To provide you with the best possible service, we may collect information related to your health and fitness activities, such as:
• Workout history
• Check-in data
• Achievements and badges
• Streak days 

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect in the following ways:
• To create and manage your account
• To provide, operate, and maintain the App
• To improve, personalize, and expand our App
• To understand and analyze how you use the App
• To develop new products, services, features

3. Data Sharing and Disclosure 

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in the following situations:                                                                                                                                         

  - With other users: Your username, profile picture, and workout activity may be visible to users who follow you.

  - With service providers: We use Firebase (Google) to store and process your data. Firebase's privacy policy applies to their handling of your data. 

- Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law.

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. Workout history, streak data, and profile information are stored for the duration of your account's existence. If you delete your account, your data will be permanently     removed from our servers within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes.                                                                                                                                                                                                                        

  5. Data Deletion 

You have the right to request deletion of your personal data at any time. You can do this by:

  - Deleting your account directly within the App (Profile > Settings > Delete Account)

  - Emailing us at chinaedu.teteh@gmail.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request" 

Upon receiving a deletion request, we will permanently delete your account and all associated data, including your profile information, workout history, achievements, and social connections, from our servers within 30 days.

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase with encryption in transit and at rest.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under the age of 13. 

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. 

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy                                                            

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
