Percussion

The percussion section of the Marching Band consists of the Drum Line and Front Ensemble. Instruments in this group includes marching snare, bass drum, marching tenors, mallet instruments, and auxiliary percussion. In addition to meeting during scheduled marching band rehearsals, the group meets during the winter and spring months as well. The mission of the percussion section is to enrich the artistic and educational experience for students of all skill sets interested in playing percussion instruments. Students can expect to learn how to play a percussion instrument as well as how each individual fits into the components of an ensemble. By focusing on the social, rudimentary, and technical aspects of percussion, the staff expect a student to grow individually as a performer and excel as an active member of the community outside of the ensemble.
