Fishing in Egersund, Norway

The area around Egersund offers a big variety of fishing. Why not try a fishing-trip from land?

Choose from different kind of trips - check the list below.

You don't have to bring anything but good clothes, suitable footwear, water and maybe something to eat. - I will provide you with all the eqiupment you need.

If you want to, I will cook the catch for you on the spot - or you can bring it home, if thats what you want.

The fishing is done from land in beautiful surroundings - but where we will go is decided by the weather.

There is different trips to choose from - have a look below and see what you find interesting.

2 persons: 1500,-

3 persons: 2100,-

4 persons: 2600,-

5 persons: 3000,-


This includes 5 hours of guided fishing, fishing-gear and (if you want) cooking the catch of the day on the spot.

Pollack

The pollack can be caught in many ways. Fishing with lures and jiggs are fun - or maybe you will try floatfishing? If you are a flyfisher, you should definitely try it out.

Best months: April-December 


Sea bass

The sea bass is hard to catch, so be warned: you could easily catch zero..But if you don't try, and so on...

The fish is usually caught by using jiggs and wobblers - and is an very exciting challenge for the flyfisher.

Best months: October-December

Gar fish

This is a really cool fish which seems to prefer warm summer days. It's usually fished by using float or small wobblers. 

Best months: May-October

Whiting

Catching this tasty fish can be done all year around if you are happy with the small ones. It seems to be most active in the dark, so that's when the angeler should be on the spot. If you want to catch a big one, you should dress well and get ready for a winter night. The fish is caught by using a bait on the bottom.

Best months: October-February.

Haddock

This fish is usually found on deep water away from  shore, but in the winter it can appear close to land. The haddock is usually fished in the dark with a bait on the bottom.

Best months: October-February.

Mackerel

This tasty fish is usually caught with lures, but the flyfisher may have a surprise here...Using a float is also a good alternative.

Best months: May-November

Spiny dogfish

If you dress well and walk out in the winter night, you can end up catching sharks. The spiny dogfish give you a good fight - and it is tasty.

The fish is caught by using a bait on the bottom.

Best months: October-February

Wrasse

This strong fish is caught by using things like snails, shrimps or mussels just below the steep rocks you are standing on. It's usually not to hard to catch, so you will probably end up with a few of these.

Best months: September-November

Turbot

This fish is found in  shallow water just outside the beaches. The fish is usually caught by using a bait on the bottom or using a float in the current. Catching a turbot is a challenge, but not impossible.

Best months: Mars-May and September-December

Plaice

You could easily end up catching a plaice or three when using worms on the right spot. 

Best months: April-June and September-November

Dab

The dab don't grow big, but is still a delight to catch. Using a bait on the right bottom, you could end up catching a few. 

Best months: April-June and September-November


Sea trout

The sea trout is an exciting fish to hunt. It is usually caught with lures and wobblers. It is the kind of fishing where you are on the move, and you should pack in a rational way: a backpack on your back and a rod in your hand.

Best months: November - April.
