IF your child was not baptized HERE, at Holy Family, Davidsonville, you will need to send me a copy of the Baptismal Certificate. You can take a picture and email it, make a photo copy and drop it off , scan and email it, or use our photo copier. I need this information to make sure these sacraments are recorded with your child's church of baptism.
IF your child was baptized at a non-Catholic, Christian church, I will work with you to set up a profession of faith with Father Mike. Holy Family will become the church to hold your child's sacrament records. THANK YOU!
This is the cabinet at the back of the church (under the deck off Unity Hall) where I will leave items for parents to pick-up. It is unlocked. There is a bin marked SACRAMENTS inside. You can access it at any time.
There are many versions of the Act of Contrition. Choose the one your family likes to recite for Reconciliation and practice it with your kids at bedtime or at meal times. While some choose to memorize this prayer, memorization is not required. What is necessary, is to sincerely mean the words you are praying. As a family, you can discuss what the words mean and why we say them.
Here's a fun video to watch with your kids and to get a refresher on Reconciliation if you need one! Most kids (and adults) are nervous about making a confession because they are worried that they won't know what to do once they get in a confessional. This video can help you feel prepared!
