Courses are conducted in the following methods:

· PowerPoint presentation with video demonstration

· Discussions/ questions and answers

· Instructor demonstration

· Learner practical. (C.P.R, A.E.D, Splinting, bandaging, recovery position, head to toe survey)

· Case scenario

· Learner workbook (marking facilitator, making sure all practical’s are done and understood by learner)

Assessment:

· Practical and theoretical

· Portfolio of evidence / requirement by SETA

· External moderation is conducted

First-Aid NQF Certificates are SETA/SAQA AND DOL Approved and valid for 3 years

PLEASE NOTE

Legislation around all first aid training sessions changed in June 2021(see attached government notice) With that being said, the old first aid “level 1, 2, and 3” courses don’t exist anymore. The new course they introduced is first aid NQF.

First aid NQF level 2 can be seen as a combination course between the old level “1, 2, 3 first aid”

The only topics that won’t be covered will be maternity and diving incidents as this fall more under a paramedic level.

All health and safety training must precent unit standard training and must be SETA/SAQA accredited and must precent unit standard training and will be the only training that will be accepted in terms of general safety regulation 3,4.
