First Gen Access and Equity Committee

The First Generation Access and Equity Committee of the Linguistic Society of America is on a mission:

• to empower first-generation linguists by providing resources, advice and opportunities often not extended to those whose families do not have experience navigating academia or linguistic careers

• to highlight the work and careers of first-gen linguists

• to educate others about the strengths and resourcefulness of first-gen linguists 

Our focus for the moment is on first-generation linguists in the United States of America. But we hope to expand our resources and advice to other countries as we grow!
