There are some things I need your help with if you believe to have seen him - mainly if he is with someone. (Leashed, being carried, etc):
1. DO NOT call him by his name - especially if you are seeing him from afar and trying to see if he reacts or turns to look where his name is being called
2. DO NOT approach the person - especially to confront them saying "I know that is not your dog - it's my friends"
3. DO try to call me (562-756-1729) and if possible stay in the area until I can get there or get someone else there who might be able to stay until I get there so the person can be monitored and he can be watched.
4. DO try to make casual conversation with the person by saying "OMG, your dog is so cute!" (Possibly ask to pet him - or even say "My sister loves Yorkies, would you mind if I take a picture to send to her?" If you do get the chance to get into close proximity remember to NOT say his name unless you see his collar with the name Niko on the tag. ***Be mindful, if his collar is still on the tag could have been changed by now to a different name.
5. DO try to make note of what the person looks like, car they might be driving, is there a leash on Niko or a rope of sort, etc?
6. DO NOT chase him if he is loose. You may try saying his name to get his attention and see if he would come to you but be mindful if he is in a parking lot you DO NOT want to call his name if you are far away and he has to travel through the path of cars, etc. In ALL instances you do not want to chase or spook him that might make him head into traffic, etc. He is normally one that will come to you, but we have to remember he is in an environment he is not used to and
5. If he is loose it is best if you position yourself in front of him (in a safe area) and let him come to you.

I have a very skilled person who has been helping me with everything (You know you you are "M") and they have seen situations like this before go very badly if handled wrong. We do not want to give anyone who is trying to hide him any hints that you know or think it might be him. If not done properly a tip like this could send the person into even further hiding.
A lot of people are still on the lookout (thank you) and I am getting tips from people as to where they might have seen someone with him - I just want to be sure this is handled with as much care as possible.
If you took the time to read all of this, thank you for that as well!
With Love,
Niko & Adam
A Plea from the Heart
This goes out directly to the person who may have Niko...
If you have my precious dog Niko and are wanting keep him due to how amazingly sweet, adorable, kind and loving he is - please consider what he and I are both going through. We have been together his whole life, which will be 10 years on the 16th of next month. Yes, his birthday is coming up (which we always celebrate as you can see in the pictures) not to mention my birthday is this coming Tuesday on the 7th. He got out because someone carelessly left the back door open at the home he was staying at while I was away. He does this because he is usually looking for me.
When I leave for work he watches me from the window in OUR apartment and it crushes me to get in my car and go.
At night his bed is placed on mine and he gets his blanket perfect by moving it around - then we fall asleep together while I rub his belly. He loves that!
When I moved to California 4 years ago the place I was moving to didn’t allow dogs and it crushed me to leave him behind until I found a place of our own. My best friend Amanda, who also has his little sister Bella, watched him for me with love and care - as he is a part of our family.
It wasn’t long before I couldn’t take it anymore and I flew back for a three day mini vaca to pick him up and bring him to California and say “heck with the no dog policy - we will keep him hidden from the property manager”. *This is because without each other we are both not complete!
So, if you do have him please consider what you are doing to both of us and search inside yourself for anything good and reunite me and my lil Boo Boos!
His collar should have been on with my phone number on the back - if his collar came off somehow my number is 562-756-1729.
Please, PLEASE let us be together again!
Adam
