Welcome to the homepage of the Flow Instability and Non-linear Dynamical systems (FIND) laboratory!

The lab is led by Dr Junho Park working in the Research Centre for Fluid and Complex Systems (FCS) at Coventry University, UK. We work on various problems in fluid dynamics and more broadly in engineering and physical sciences. We focus on advancing our knowledge of flow instability and applying it to address practical applications such as flow control or turbulence modelling. We also conduct research on non-linear dynamical systems to understand and predict complexity in real-world systems.

January 2026: Park gave an invited talk in the International Symposium on Industry-Academia Collaboration for Advancing Smart Mobility Technology at Jeonbuk National University, South Korea.  

November 2025: Park gave a presentation in the American Physical Society Division of Fluid Dynamics (APS-DFD) meeting in Houston, USA. 

November 2025: Park was awarded the Outstanding Research Award for Advanced Future Leaders by the Korean Scientists and Engineers Association in the UK (KSEAUK) during the 2025 KSEAUK annual conference on 1 November in Dublin, Ireland.  

September 2025: Ms Natasha Savic joined the lab as a new STFC-funded PhD student (co-supervised, Director of Studies: Dr Chris Pringle).  

July 2025: Park presented his work on non-linear instabilities in stratified Taylor-Couette flow in the International Couette-Taylor Workshop (ICTW2025) at Durham University, UK.  

May 2025: Park gave a seminar in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Durham University, UK. 

January 2025: Ms Bonanza Sebastian joined the lab as a new STFC-funded PhD student (co-supervised, Director of Studies: Dr Chris Pringle).  

December 2024: Park gave a seminar in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at EPFL, Lausanne, Switzerland.  

November 2024: Park visited for two weeks Le Laboratoire Ondes et Milieux Complexes (LOMC) at University of Le Havre, France, for research collaboration with Dr Arnaud Prigent and Prof Innocent Mutabazi.  

August 2024: Park presented his work on laminar-turbulent transition in Taylor-Couette flow in the International Congress of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (ICTAM2024) in Daegu, South Korea.   

May 2024: Mr Dimitrios Kyriakou joined the lab as a new PhD student (Director of Studies: Park, co-supervised with Dr Chris Pringle).
