We have produced a small batch of beta test rolls to provide us with early samples of this film. This is what you see in this campaign. After seeing the quality of these test rolls, we began working with our manufacturing partners around the world to produce an initial production batch that would produce limited quantities of our production quality film in both 35mm and some 120 medium format. This timeline below shows more details of where we are and where we are headed, with a large scale production run in the plans for this Spring.

A: "CineStill Film Makers" are the folks that have supported our most ambitious product launches to date through crowdfunding. They are heroes of analog. Film Makers play a fundamental role in the creation of film and help us determine which products the analog community needs next.
Q: What film is 400D based on?
A: CineStill 400D is specifically designed for still photography. We worked exclusively with our manufacturing partners around the world to roll components found in many different films into one. This new film is based on advanced technology found in motion picture emulsions, and at the same time delivers features exclusive to still photography materials in both unexposed and processed states.
Q: Can CineStill 400D be pushed or pulled?
A: Yes, like any film stock you can choose how you expose the film in-camera and decide how to process the film afterwards. 400D has pretty amazing exposure latitude as is. It can be exposed at EI 200 to EI 800 with normal processing, and be push processed up to EI 3200.
Q: When will my local store(s) start carrying CineStill 400D?
A: You can expect to start seeing CineStill 400D on the shelves of film retailers this Summer 2022. To get it earlier than that, become a Film Maker today!

When I first moved to Georgia, I jumped at the chance to go to meet folks in the industry. I literally went to the first one I saw. It was at some studio and sounded legit. People were encouraged to go up to this microphone, introduce themselves, and mingle afterward. It was so awkward. Everyone there was someone who wanted a job, not anyone who could actually offer one. I ended up making one connection, who ended up humble bragging into making me believe he knew what he was doing. I wasted time prepping a film that fell apart the day before the shoot and I found out they lied and misled about everything.
