App: Files Recovery Master
Package: com.cerkimot.recoverfiles
Effective date: 2026-04-29
This Privacy Policy explains how Files Recovery Master ("App", "we", "our") processes information when you use the App. By using the App, you acknowledge this policy.
Scope
This policy applies to the Android app Files Recovery Master and related support communications. It does not apply to third-party websites or services that you may open from inside the App.
Information We Process
Device file metadata and selected files: Includes file paths, names, media/document types, and selected recoverable items. This information is processed on the device to scan storage, present recoverable results, and recover files chosen by the user.
App preferences: Includes language selection, onboarding status, and UI state. This data is stored locally on the device to remember your settings and improve the user experience.
Support communication data: If you contact us, we may process your email address and message content. This is handled by the email provider and support mailbox to respond to questions and support requests.
We do not require account sign-up and we do not intentionally collect sensitive personal identity data through registration.
Permissions and Why We Request Them
Storage/File access permissions: Needed to scan local storage and recover files selected by you.
Internet permission: Needed for network-based actions such as opening web links, for example app rating, policy pages, and support links.
You can revoke permissions in Android Settings at any time. If key permissions are revoked, some features may not work.
Legal Basis for Processing
User consent: where permissions are requested at runtime.
Performance of service: to provide core file scanning and recovery features you request.
Legitimate interest: for app stability, abuse prevention, and support operations.
Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell personal data. We may share limited data only when necessary:
With service providers that support app functionality, for example libraries/frameworks used inside the App.
When required by law, regulation, legal process, or valid government request.
To protect rights, security, and integrity of users, the App, or the public.
Third-Party Libraries and SDKs
The App includes several third-party libraries to provide UI, media preview, local storage, and utility functions. These libraries process data only as needed, primarily on-device:
AndroidX (AppCompat, Core, Activity, ConstraintLayout, Navigation, WorkManager, etc.) for standard Android UI, navigation, and background scheduling.
Google Material Components for UI widgets and theming.
Lifecycle Runtime Compose for handling Compose lifecycle behavior.
ExoPlayer for local audio/video preview and playback.
Glide for image loading and caching for thumbnails/previews.
MMKV for fast local key-value storage for app preferences.
Hilt (Dagger) for dependency injection and app architecture wiring.
Epoxy for efficient lists and data-binding driven UI.
Lottie for vector animations in the UI.
Okio for low-level I/O utilities used by other libraries.
KPermissions for runtime permission requests.
MultiLanguages for in-app language and locale handling.
If we add new SDKs in a future release, for example analytics or ads, we will update this page and, where required, obtain consent before activation.
Data Retention
Preference data is retained on your device until you clear app data or uninstall the App. Recovered file operations are user-driven and performed locally. Support emails are retained as needed to resolve your request and for reasonable record-keeping.
Security
We apply reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; therefore, absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
International Data Transfers
If support or technical operations involve providers in different regions, information may be processed outside your country. We take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate protection in line with applicable law.
Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required by local law. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided such data, contact us for deletion.
Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to processing of your data. You may also withdraw consent for permissions in device settings.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material updates will be reflected by updating the effective date on this page.
