Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 10, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how FileRecover ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the App on your Android device. If you have any questions, you can contact us at nguyenhungg127.de@gmail.com.

1. What the App Does

FileRecover is a file-finding and restore utility with file cleanup, local vault, and QR/barcode tools. It scans the storage on your device to locate existing photos, videos, audio files, documents, and hidden files, lets you preview supported items, and copies the files you select into Downloads/FileRecoverPro on your device. The App reads files that are present on your device storage; it does not perform low-level recovery of permanently deleted data.

2. Information We Process

The App may process the following categories of information:

3. Storage Access and Permissions

The App requests storage-related permissions, including broad file access (All files access / MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE) on supported Android versions, because these permissions are necessary for the App's core purpose: scanning device storage and copying the files you choose into the restore destination.

Without storage access, the App cannot fully scan directories, detect hidden files, preview content, clean files, move files into Safe Vault, or copy selected files into the restore destination. The App also requests camera permission for QR/barcode scanning. Camera frames are used to detect QR/barcode content while scanning. The App also requests permission to post notifications so it can remind you to scan; you can disable these reminders at any time in the App settings or in your device settings.

4. How We Use Information

We use information processed by the App to:

5. On-Device Processing

Core scanning, file discovery, file preview setup, cleanup suggestions, vault actions, QR/barcode detection, QR creation, and copy/restore actions are primarily performed on your device. The App does not require you to create an account in order to use its main features.

6. Local Storage on Your Device

The App stores certain data locally using on-device app storage, including:

If you delete the App or clear app data, some or all locally stored app data may be removed, including Safe Vault metadata and files stored in the App's private storage. Files saved to your public device storage may remain until you delete them manually.

7. Firebase Analytics and Realtime Database

The App uses Firebase services to record product and technical events, such as scan starts, scan completion, restore actions, cleaner actions, QR/barcode actions, vault actions, rewarded-ad events, language changes, and other feature interactions. This helps us understand app usage and improve reliability and monetization.

Depending on configuration, certain event data may also be mirrored to Firebase Realtime Database for operational tracking. This may include a generated app-specific client ID, event names, timestamps, app version, and non-content usage metadata.

Firebase is provided by Google. For more information, see Google's privacy information at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

8. Advertising

The App uses Google AdMob to display ads, including banner ads, rewarded ads, rewarded interstitial ads, interstitial ads, and app open ads. AdMob may collect or receive information such as device identifiers, advertising identifiers, IP-related information, approximate location derived from network signals, app interaction data, and ad performance data to deliver, limit, and measure ads.

Rewarded ads may be used to unlock certain optional in-app functionality, such as deep scan access. Google may process personal data in accordance with its own privacy policy and advertising policies, available at https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

9. Opening Files with Other Apps

When you choose to open a file using another app on your device, Android may share a temporary file URI and access permission with that selected app so the file can be opened. Any processing performed by that external app is governed by that app's own privacy practices.

10. What We Do Not Intentionally Collect

We do not require account registration, and we do not intentionally ask for sensitive personal details such as your government ID number, payment card number, or precise real-time GPS location in order to use the App's main features.

11. Data Sharing

We may share information with service providers that support the App, including:

We do not sell your personal information. However, advertising and analytics providers may process information under their own terms and applicable law.

12. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your information. You can:

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or a region with similar laws (such as GDPR), you may also have the right to object to or restrict certain processing and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. If you are a California resident (CCPA/CPRA), you may exercise the rights described above; we do not sell or share your personal information as defined by those laws.

13. Data Retention

Local app data is generally retained until you delete it, uninstall the App, or clear app data. Data processed by Firebase or AdMob may be retained according to Google's applicable retention settings, platform configuration, and legal requirements.

14. Security

We take reasonable steps to reduce risk within the App, but no software, device, storage environment, or internet transmission can be guaranteed 100% secure. You should also protect your device with appropriate security settings.

15. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly design the App to collect personal information directly from children. If you believe a child has provided us information inappropriately, please contact us.

16. International Use

If you use the App in a country other than where service providers operate their infrastructure, your information may be processed in other jurisdictions as part of Firebase, AdMob, or related technical services.

17. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect app changes, legal requirements, or service-provider updates. The updated version will be posted in the App with a revised "Last updated" date.
