This Privacy Policy explains how FileGo handles information when you use the app.
FileGo is a local file manager. The app is designed to help you browse, search, preview, organize, rename, copy, move, delete, and share files stored on your device or in folders you authorize.
FileGo does not upload your local files to our servers for file management features.
To provide file manager functionality, FileGo may access:
File names
Folder names
File paths or content URIs
File type, size, and last modified time
File thumbnails for images and videos
File content when you open, preview, copy, move, delete, or share a file
This access is used to provide file browsing, search, category grouping, recent file display, preview, and file operations.
FileGo may request storage permissions depending on your Android version and the feature you use.
Permissions may include:
All files access on Android 11 and later, when full file manager functionality is needed
Read external storage access on supported Android versions
Write external storage access on older Android versions
Folder access through the Android system file picker
Package install permission when you choose to install APK files
You can revoke permissions from Android system settings at any time. Some features may stop working or become limited after permissions are revoked.
File browsing, sorting, search, category grouping, thumbnails, preview, and file operations are processed locally on your device where possible.
FileGo does not intentionally collect or transfer the contents of your files for analytics or advertising.
FileGo may display ads.
Advertising partners may collect or receive information needed to show, measure, and improve ads, such as:
Advertising ID or similar device identifiers, where available
Approximate device information, such as device model, Android version, language, and screen size
IP address and general location inferred from IP address
Ad interaction data, such as impressions, clicks, and ad performance events
App usage events related to ad delivery and measurement
Advertising partners do not need access to your local file contents for ad delivery. FileGo should not share your file contents, file names, or folder contents with advertising partners.
If a specific ad network is integrated before release, this policy should be updated with the ad network name, its privacy policy link, and any additional data it collects.
If analytics are added in a future version, FileGo may collect app performance and usage information such as crash logs, feature usage, device model, OS version, and app version. Analytics should not include local file contents.
If analytics are not included in the released build, this section can be removed before publication.
When you choose to share a file, FileGo passes the selected file or file URI to the Android system share sheet or to the app you choose. The receiving app handles the shared file according to its own privacy policy.
When you choose to open or install an APK file, FileGo may pass the APK URI to the Android package installer or another compatible app. FileGo does not install APK files automatically without your action.
FileGo may store local preferences on your device, such as:
Authorized folder records
Recent file range setting
Default sort setting
Start location setting
Hidden file display setting
These preferences are stored locally on your device. You can clear them by clearing the app data or uninstalling the app.
FileGo is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children. The app is a general file management utility.
This Privacy Policy may be updated when FileGo changes its features, permissions, advertising partners, analytics tools, or data handling practices.
