Devallone built File Control and File Control Server as local Wi-Fi file transfer tools. This Privacy Policy explains how the Android app “File Control” and the Windows app “File Control Server” handle information.
1. Apps Covered
This Privacy Policy applies to:
File Control
Android app used to connect to a Windows PC, browse a selected shared folder, send files to the PC, download files from the PC, scan QR codes, and receive files from the PC.
File Control Server
Windows app used to share one selected folder with the Android app, receive files from Android, send files to Android, and show connection information.
2. Summary
File Control works on your local Wi-Fi network.
We do not operate a cloud storage service for your files.
We do not upload your files to Devallone servers.
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not use your files for advertising.
Files are transferred directly between your Android device and your Windows PC over your local network.
3. Information the Apps Handle
The apps may handle the following information only to provide file transfer and connection features:
Files and file names:
When you choose files to send or download, the apps process those files and their names to complete the transfer.
Folder location:
On Android, you may choose a receive folder. On Windows, you may choose one shared folder. The apps remember these choices locally so you do not need to select them every time.
Network information:
The apps use local network information such as IP address, port, device connection state, and pairing token to connect Android and Windows on the same Wi-Fi network.
QR code data:
The Android app can use the camera to scan a QR code shown by the Windows server. The QR code contains local connection details such as IP address, port, and pairing token.
App preferences:
The apps may store settings such as language, selected folder, last server IP address, notification preferences, startup preferences, and privacy acceptance status.
4. How Information Is Used
The apps use information only to:
Connect the Android app to the Windows server.
Show nearby servers on the same local Wi-Fi.
Scan a QR code for connection.
Send files from Android to Windows.
Send files from Windows to Android.
Browse the selected shared Windows folder.
Download files selected by the user.
Save received files in the folder selected by the user.
Show transfer progress and notifications.
Remember user settings.
5. File Access
The Android app can access only files that you select or folders that you explicitly choose through Android’s system file picker.
The Windows server shares only the folder that you explicitly select in the server app. Android cannot browse the whole PC unless you choose a folder that contains those files.
6. Camera Permission
The Android app requests camera permission only to scan the QR code shown by File Control Server.
Camera frames are used for QR code scanning. The app does not use the camera for recording video, taking photos, face recognition, advertising, or analytics.
7. Notifications Permission
On Android versions that require notification permission, the app may request notification permission to show file transfer notifications, such as when a file is received.
8. Network Access
The apps use your local Wi-Fi network to communicate between Android and Windows.
File transfers happen over the local network. They are not sent to Devallone cloud servers.
Important: Local transfers are protected by a pairing token and local-network restrictions, but they are not end-to-end encrypted unless your local network provides its own protection. Use File Control only on networks you trust.
9. Data Sharing
Devallone does not receive, collect, sell, rent, or share your files.
The apps do not send your files to Devallone servers.
The apps may use platform services and libraries required for normal app operation, such as Android system file pickers, Android notifications, camera APIs, and QR scanning libraries.
10. Data Storage
Android app:
The Android app stores preferences locally on the device, such as the receive folder URI, last server IP address, and app settings.
Windows server:
The Windows server stores preferences locally on the PC, such as selected shared folder, language, startup setting, notification setting, and privacy acceptance status.
Files are stored only in the folders chosen by the user.
11. Data Retention
Files remain on your Android device or Windows PC until you delete them.
Local app preferences remain until you clear app data, uninstall the app, reset settings, or delete the configuration files.
Devallone does not keep a remote copy of your files because files are not uploaded to Devallone servers.
12. Security
We use security measures intended to reduce unauthorized access, including:
Pairing token required between Android and Windows.
Local-network-only connection behavior.
User-selected shared folder access.
Path validation to prevent access outside the selected shared folder.
File name validation.
Connection state indicators.
User-controlled folder selection.
No method of local network transfer is perfect. You should use the apps only on private Wi-Fi networks that you trust.
13. Children’s Privacy
File Control is not designed to collect personal information from children. The apps do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
14. Your Choices
You can:
Choose which files to send.
Choose the Android receive folder.
Choose the Windows shared folder.
Disconnect from the server.
Stop the Windows server.
Clear app data or uninstall the apps.
Delete transferred files from your device or PC.
Disable notifications in system settings.
15. Data Safety for Google Play
For Google Play Data Safety, the Android app should be described according to its real behavior:
The app handles user-selected files for app functionality.
The app does not upload files to Devallone servers.
The app does not sell user data.
The app uses camera permission for QR code scanning.
The app uses notification permission for transfer notifications.
The app uses local network access for file transfer.
Data is transferred over local Wi-Fi between user devices.
If the form asks whether data is encrypted in transit, do not claim cloud-style encryption unless encryption is added. The transfer is local network HTTP protected by pairing token and local network restrictions.
16. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we update it, we will change the “Last updated” date.
