If you want portable, customizable in ear earbuds for toddlers that deliver deep bass and flexible sound tuning, choose FiiO FH5s; if you need a spacious, neutral listening experience for stationary home use with Amazon Renewed Sennheiser HD 560, choose Amazon Renewed Sennheiser HD 560. This isn't about which is louder or cheaper, but which design actually fits your daily routine. The FH5s is built to be tucked away in a case and carried anywhere, while the HD 560S demands a quiet room and a dedicated listening spot to shine.
• FiiO FH5s: Offers incredible sound customization with three switches for eight different audio profiles and a semi-open back design for comfort during long sessions, but it requires an external source and lacks a microphone or wireless connectivity.
• Amazon Renewed Sennheiser HD 560: Delivers a wide, natural soundstage with open-back earcups and E.A.R. technology for accurate, reference-quality audio, yet it is strictly wired, heavy on the head, and leaks sound to everyone around you.
• Who each pick is for: The FH5s suits travelers, commuters, and parents needing durable, high-fidelity in-ear monitors that fit active lifestyles, whereas the HD 560S is ideal for critical listening at a desk where silence and acoustic accuracy are paramount.
The FiiO FH5s is engineered for people who demand control over their listening experience without sacrificing portability. At its core, this hybrid in-ear monitor combines a 12mm beryllium-plated dynamic driver for low frequencies with a 6mm beryllium-plated dynamic driver for mids and a Knowles TWFK-30017 balanced armature for treble. This complex setup allows the FH5s to produce deep, potent bass that remains controlled rather than muddy, while keeping vocals lush and treble exquisite. If you have ever felt like standard earbuds sound too flat or too boomy, the FH5s gives you the tools to fix that.
What sets this product apart from almost any other pair of IEMs is the inclusion of three sound adjustment switches. These switches utilize electronic crossover technology to let you tune the impedance, bass, mids, and treble independently. With these three switches, you get eight possible sound signatures. You can crank up the bass for a workout playlist, flatten the response for critical music analysis, or boost the highs for detailed classical tracks. This level of flexibility means one pair of headphones can adapt to whatever genre you are listening to or whatever your mood happens to be that day.

The physical design also caters heavily to extended wear. The rear cavity features a semi-open design that was refined through computer simulations to balance air pressure between the front and rear of the ear canal. This prevents the "plugged-up" feeling common with sealed earbuds, leading to more comfortable long listening sessions. The body itself uses a TRISHELL sandwich structure with 5-axis CNC machined aluminum-magnesium alloy parts to reduce resonance. If you are looking for in ear earbuds for toddlers who might be sensitive to pressure or discomfort, or simply for yourself after a long commute, the ergonomic focus here is undeniable. However, keep in mind this is a wired device with no built-in microphone or battery, so it is strictly for listening, not for taking calls on the go.
The Amazon Renewed Sennheiser HD 560 is designed for the listener who prioritizes absolute sonic accuracy over convenience. As an over-the-ear headphone with an open-back design, it lets sound waves expand naturally, creating a lifelike depth and realism that sealed cans simply cannot match. The key to this performance is the E.A.R. (Ergonomic Acoustic Refinement) technology, which tilts the drivers to the natural angle of your ears. This recreates the optimal triangular listening position found in high-end recording studios, giving you a wide soundstage that feels like you are sitting front-row at a concert.
This headphone targets the analytical audio enthusiast who wants to hear exactly what the artist intended. The linear acoustics are tailored to reveal the truth in your music, offering highly accurate bass retrieval and smooth, gratifying bass performance without the artificial boost often found in consumer headphones. The frequency response ranges from 6 Hz to 38 kHz, ensuring you don't miss the deepest lows or the highest shimmering highs. The earpads are luxuriously soft and rest around the ear rather than pressing against them, which is crucial for those long study or work sessions. If you are someone who needs bluetooth headphones for toddlers to block out noise, this is not it; but if you need a tool to focus deeply on a podcast or a complex album at home, the HD 560S is a powerhouse.
It is important to note the trade-offs inherent in this design. Because the earcups are open-back, they do not isolate noise. In fact, they leak sound significantly, meaning anyone near you will hear what you are hearing. They are also wired only, connecting via a detachable cable with a 6.3mm plug and an included 3.5mm adapter. While the headband is ultra-light and adjustable, the 8.48-ounce weight is distributed across the top of your head, which some users might find heavier than an in-ear solution. This product is best suited for a quiet environment where you can sit still and appreciate the full breadth of the audio spectrum without interruption.
• Best for portability → FiiO FH5s: Its compact, twist-lock swappable plug design and carrying case make it ready for travel, unlike the bulky over-ear HD 560S.
• Best for sound customization → FiiO FH5s: Three switches offer eight distinct sound signatures, whereas the HD 560S offers a fixed, neutral profile.
• Best for immersive soundstage → Amazon Renewed Sennheiser HD 560: The open-back design and angled drivers create a wider, more natural spatial image.
• Best for active use → FiiO FH5s: The secure in-ear fit works well for movement, while the HD 560S is meant for stationary listening.
• Best for privacy → FiiO FH5s: The in-ear seal provides passive isolation, preventing sound leakage to others.
• Best for critical mixing/listening → Amazon Renewed Sennheiser HD 560: The neutral frequency response and E.A.R. technology provide a reference-grade listening experience.
• Best for comfort during long sessions → Both: The FH5s uses semi-open cavities to relieve pressure, while the HD 560S uses soft, floating earpads.
• Best for versatility in source connection → FiiO FH5s: The twist-lock plug allows switching between 2.5mm, 3.5mm, and 4.4mm heads easily.
In my opinion, the choice comes down to how you plan to use the audio gear in your life. If you are looking for a reliable pair of bluetooth headphones for toddlers that can handle the chaos of daily life, or if you need high-fidelity sound that travels with you, the FiiO FH5s is the superior choice. Its ability to switch sound profiles and its comfortable, semi-open design make it incredibly versatile for a parent on the move. However, if your goal is to sit down and listen to music with zero compromise on accuracy and space, the Amazon Renewed Sennheiser HD 560 is unmatched. For me, the FiiO FH5s wins because it solves the problem of wanting great sound everywhere, not just at a desk.
The FiiO FH5s is often used as in ear earbuds for toddlers due to their secure fit and lack of exposed wires compared to large headphones, though the HD 560S is generally too large and non-isolating for young children.
The HD 560S has an impedance of 120 ohms, which is higher than the FH5s at 40 ohms, suggesting it may benefit more from a dedicated headphone amplifier or interface to drive it properly compared to the easier-to-drive FH5s.
Neither the FiiO FH5s nor the Amazon Renewed Sennheiser HD 560 includes a built-in microphone, so neither is suitable for making phone calls or using voice assistants directly through the headset.
The FH5s offers a customizable, V-shaped sound with boosted bass and treble via its switches, while the HD 560S provides a strict, neutral, and linear response aimed at revealing every detail in the mix.
