It has come to our attention that sometimes students in the virtual classroom Bongo meeting sessions cannot hear the audio when an instructor is sharing a video in the screen share feature. Examples of these videos being shared are YouTube videos, or possibly web sites with videos that deal with particular instruction from a course. Below is a picture of the box an instructor must check in order for the virtual students to hear the audio with the matching video, when screen sharing presentations.

f`or lack of a better description my 27'' iMac is making a sound like someone is constantly drumming on bongos. It will stop for a few seconds and then start up again until I restart the computer. What is this.

using env~ to compute input for vu meters seems cpu intensive. i have an app using 11 stereo audio paths (7 rows mixed to one of 4 audio outputs), and i have created a pair of vu meters for each. each vu input looks like this:

I own a copy of Virtual Audio Cable (VAC), which theoretically provides multiple virtual cables to route audio between applications on windows systems. I have been able to create 4 cables in VAC, and can use any two of them to route 2 stereo pairs from pd to Ableton. But it appears that pd will not output to more than two 2-channel outputs at once.

I am trying to use Jack to route multiple outputs (8) from pd to Ableton Live. I believe I have Jack installed correctly, and can route audio in both directions between Ableton and my external sound card via Jack "cables."

I am unable to get pd to show up in the Jack patch panel. I have chosen "ASIO (via portaudio)" from the pd media menu, then selected "(1)JackRouter" as my output device in audio settings, turned audio on, etc. but still pd does not show up in Jack.

i have created an app in pd for storing & triggering a large bank of samples. when i attempt to load a sample - via openpanel - while a number of other samples are playing, all audio playback stops while the window to browse for the file name remains open, then resumes once a file is selected/loaded.

Thanks ShankarBaba. I believe LoopBe creates virtual midi cables between applications. I use MidiYoke to do the same thing. What I need is to create virtual cables for transporting audio between applications. That's what virtual Audio Cable and Jack are supposed to do. But I cannot get either to work - Jack not at all with pd, and Virtual Audio Cable not for more than two stereo cables, carrying a total of four channels of audio. I am trying to get something working with 8 channels of audio in total.

On Windows you can configure your computer so that all audio generated by the computer (such as playing an audio or video file in media player) is captured by a recording device. Most sound cards on Windows computers will include a recording device named "Stereo Mix" in addition to the normal microphone. "Stereo Mix" is disabled by default. When you enable "Stereo Mix" it captures all of the sound generated by programs running on the computer. You can share this computer audio in any program or website which uses a microphone as the input sound device.

You can not use both the microphone and the audio from playing a file at the same time in Virtual Classroom. When you use the "Stereo Mix" device it only includes sounds output by the computer. The microphone is not normally configured to output over the computer speakers. If you output the microphone over the speakers you will get feedback. If you are using a headset for your audio output you will hear yourself talking on the microphone in addition to the audio you are playing. To effectively play audio from a file in Virtual Classroom you should do the following:

Resolution / Workaround: When a dial-in user uses another device for other meeting functions (laptop (video) + phone (audio)), they can access the chat in the new breakout room to access the dial-in number.

Performance patches are designed to make it easy for you to play a percussion instrument using multiple performance techniques on your music keyboard. Performance patches include a small number of related instruments, such as several shakers, with different performance techniques assigned to individual keys. This way, different keys will play the instrument differently; for example, one key might play the sound of a low bongo being hit in the center of the drum head, while another key might play the sound of a low bongo being hit on the side of the drum head.

it is with cats! everybody likes cats!

but serious: i think one can criticise/discuss about bad plugins that are sold as magic or about technical rubbish that is just made for making money, things that try to blind with the interface or marketing but are actually not good and so on, rather that is the stuff you talk about actually.

but this is just fun and doesnt want to be serious. it made my day yesterday when i got the audiofb newsletter, though i knew i would never really use it. it was so nice to see the little sweeties play their instruments!

p.s. i also like dustbin, really serious. meow.
