Welcome
We are studying the biological systems using an information science approach. We have two laboratories. Nakano Lab is studying neuroscience, and Kunida Lab is studying intracellular signaling. Please visit the website of each laboratory for more information about their research.
We accept students and postdocs. Please feel free to contact us.
We are studying the mechanisms of the brain. We are studying how reinforcement learning is implemented in the brain by multi-level modeling at the molecular, cellular, and neural network levels. We are also working on data science and analyzing data such as brain activity and biochemical data using machine learning and other methods. By these approaches, we are working to understand and treat brain-related diseases such as mental illness and addiction.
We are engaged in research on system-theoretical understanding, prediction, and control of cell fate decision making (proliferation / differentiation), cell motility, and metabolism related to regenerative medicine and pathological condition prediction. In particular, we are focusing on intracellular signal transduction pathways and studying variations in cell-cell responses and coding functions, optimal control. We aim to contribute to preventive medicine from the precise prediction and control of cell systems.
