Young Poets Society

Young Poets Society focuses on learning about poets, analyzing various poems, and helping students find their voice.  This club is meant to be a safe space for aspiring poets to share their ideas, find inspiration, channel their creativity, or even relax.  In all, we help students dive deeper into the world of poetry, and enrich their view of the English language and writing.

Students will hear a short lecture from the club officers, analyze a poem, and write poems by themselves or with one another here.  We will cycle through different poetic themes and structures, and sometimes try to emulate a certain poet's style.  Occasionally, we will try to hold poetry slams, poetry competitions, or days where students just share their poems in a supportive and welcoming environment.
