Abstract: Foothill College is a commuter school, and as such students often have a hard time feeling connected to the community, campus, and surrounding area. This is even more true with the switch to online classes. Student clubs, including the Geospatial Technology Club, are an integral part of the solution and foster interaction and engagement within Foothill. We have created an interactive web map to serve as an insider’s guide for Foothill students. This map highlights key points of interest both on and off campus that were compiled from data gathered from online sources, submitted by Foothill students, and collected using ArcGIS Collector. This project will aid students in the transition from online to on campus classes by helping them feel more comfortable as a part of the Foothill community and connecting them with useful resources such as transportation, restaurant, and study options. Being a web-based map, this project allows users to add their own recommendations and can evolve and adapt over the coming years. This map is a product of the Foothill community – created by students, for students.
