The Mathematics Colloquium fosters a vibrant and intellectually stimulating forum that excites and informs students, faculty, and the community about mathematics as both a scholarly pursuit and a practical tool for real-world impact. In alignment with FGCU’s mission, the colloquium promotes student success, interdisciplinary collaboration, and career readiness by connecting mathematical ideas to broader cultural, scientific, and professional contexts.
The Mathematics Colloquium will be recognized as a regional hub for mathematical dialogue and discovery, where learners, educators, and professionals engage in transformative conversations that bridge academic research, applied careers, and community engagement. Through innovative programming and partnerships, the colloquium will enhance FGCU’s presence as a center of cultural expression, creativity, and scholarly exchange, preparing students to thrive as globally engaged and career-ready citizens.
Presenters are welcome to share anything from research breakthroughs to innovative applications. We especially encourage talks that inspire students and demonstrate mathematics' broad impact.
