Welcome to my personal page!
I'm Gabriel Muñoz: Biologist, Computational Ecologist, born and raised at the middle of the Planet.
I grew up in Ecuador experiencing a great variety of landscapes and encountering many living organisms. This life experiences fostered a curiosity which pushed me to study biodiversity science. Sadly, I have also experienced close hand how human alterations, un-oriented management and lack of information becomes a risk to biodiversity. With this in mind, my academic goal is not only to understand the fundamental patterns of biodiversity but also contribute to local and global conservation efforts. I have a B.Sc. in Biology with a minor in Environmental management from San Francisco University (USFQ) in Quito, Ecuador. Also I have obtained a M.Sc. in Ecology and Evolution from the University of Amsterdam (UvA) in The Netherlands. Soon I'll be starting a Ph.D. in Biology with the Lessard Lab at Concordia University in Montreal.
