Welcome to my personal page!
I'm Gabriel Muñoz: Biologist, Computational Ecologist, born and raised at the middle of the Planet.
I grew up in Ecuador experiencing a great variety of landscapes and encountering many living organisms. This life experiences fostered a curiosity which pushed me to study biodiversity science. Sadly, I have also experienced close hand how human alterations, un-oriented management and lack of information becomes a risk to biodiversity. With this in mind, my academic goal is not only to understand the fundamental patterns of biodiversity but also contribute to local and global conservation efforts.
Currently, I'm starting a Ph.D. in Biology with the Lessard Lab at Concordia University in Montreal. I have obtained a M.Sc. in Ecology and Evolution from the University of Amsterdam (UvA) in The Netherlands. Also, I have a B.Sc. in Biology with a minor in Environmental management from San Francisco University (USFQ) in Quito, Ecuador.
