We will have off site Hill Repeats three (3) times this season. This means we will not be meeting at the stores on these days.
Hill Repeats will be held on the following dates:
Tuesday, February 6 @ 6 pm at Blue Ash Golf Course & Eden Park
Wednesday, February 7 @ 6 pm at Ault Park & Eden Park
Tuesday, February 27 @ 6 pm at Blue Ash Golf Course & Eden Park
Wednesday, February 28 @ 6 pm at Ault Park & Eden Park
Tuesday, March19 @ 6 pm at Blue Ash Golf Course & Eden Park
Wednesday, March 20 @ 6 pm at Ault Park & Eden Park
It is up to you which night & location you attend those days. If you are training for the Flying Pig events, the Eden Park hills are great practice for you!
Trust us, hills are your friend! The muscles you use during the hill workouts are similar to those used to sprint, so hills help enhance your speed. They also help strengthen the muscles around your knees, helping to reduce knee injuries.
Make sure you pay attention to your form during the hill workouts -- shorten your stride and keep your shoulders back. Do not "lean" into the hill. It will change your center of gravity & make it harder. You will have no trouble conquering the hill repeats!
We do not recommend attending back to back nights. One night of hills is all you need in these weeks.
Make sure you push yourself on the up and recover on the down. Your recovery on the down can be an easy run or an easy walk. The main focus of the recover portion is to get your heart rate back down from the push up.
