Fostering Faith Life

"The Mystery of the faith is great. The Church professes it in the Apostles Creed, celebrates it in the sacramental Liturgy, so that the life of the faithful might be conformed to Christ in the Spirit to the glory of God the Father. This mystery demands then that the faithful believe it, celebrate it and live from it in a vital and personal relationship with the living and true God. This relationship is prayer. “

(Catechism of the Catholic Church par. 2558)

In the formation of Clergy more time and resources have usually been devoted to Theology, Liturgy and Moral Theology, than to the serious study of prayer, which is the relationship that gives meaning to the other three. This programme for those in ordained ministry, seeks to provide a non-academic, but serious study of the Church’s traditional teaching on this life of prayer, how to live it personally and foster it in the lives of those in their care.

Closing Date (for all courses): Monday 24th July, 2017

Aim of the Programme

  • To assist clergy to be companions on the faith journey with those in their care
  • To offer them a clear understanding of our traditional teaching on growing in the faith journey
  • To enable them to feel more confident in their guidance of those in their care.
  • To provide for the faithful more possibilities for assistance in the faith journey
  • To elicit from participants practical ways of assisting those in their care to grow in their faith.
