Did you try the Headline element to add the headings in the post? This method will also avoid the usage of custom CSS. However if you need to use the custom CSS to make some headings bold then you can add the following code in the Theme Options > CSS:

I have investigated the page why the Open Sans bold is not displaying properly and I found out that you have inserted incorrect html codes. You have several unclosed tags and other invalid codes. For example, you have added this:

While many fonts have a particular weight corresponding to one of the numbers in Common weight name mapping, most variable fonts support a range of weights providing much finer granularity, giving designers and developers more control over the chosen weight.

People experiencing low vision conditions may have difficulty reading text set with a font-weight value of 100 (Thin/Hairline) or 200 (Extra Light), especially if the font has a low contrast color ratio.

I would like to have only one word in Bold in text editor.

As soon as I change font or change size, it is not longer showing bold text anymore. Even though in text editor is in Strong/Bold.

Hi, I am new to building pages with BB. I created a webpage and within a text block I bolded some texts, and in the Text editor they were all shown bolded with . Yet, when the page is viewed, certain texts were not bolded. No matter what I tried, unbolding and re bolding again, still certain text will not bold.

Unless someone shares the url to a site where you cant bold, noone can help. Changing to bold in the wp text editor will set the text to bold, but if your theme is setting bold to something else, it wont be bold.

I am experiencing the same issue. The issue is that there is a style that overwrites all font weights that are applied inside a rich text editor from beaver builder. When I bold a word or manually add a  element [See screenshot below], the style overwrites any decorating element. The class name in question that is causing the issue is .fl-builder-content .fl-node-5fd376cec570d .fl-rich-text *, it targets everything inside a rich text editor and overwrites it.

How to specify a bold font in VS Code's settings.json? For example, I have Envy Code R and Envy Code R Bold (exact names shown in windows' font viewer) installed on my windows machine, and while

Whenever I view my site on mobile device via the SS app (specifically, iPhone or iPad), any bold font style will initially flash bold but turn to a normal style. Only once have I seen it work correctly on mobile device. Everything looks fine on computer, even when switching to the mobile layout, but just not on mobile within SS app. I'm not using any custom loaded fonts...only the ones that come preloaded with SS font packages (Montserrat and Poppins).

First of all, thank you for taking the time to look at and read my question. What I'm trying to do is to make the font of a TTK button bold. It is very easy to do with a normal Tkinter button, but I'm having a little trouble with a TTK one.

I have a problem that is driving me nuts. Just one font of mine will not convert to PDF in bold. It is Futura Standard. Everything else from the Word document converts and it used to do so for me in the past.

I recently got a new computer and upgraded to the latest version of Word. No matter what I do - either using Word's own PDF making tool, using Acrobat X Pro or using a rival PDF tool - the result is always the same and this one font won't show up as bold when I convert.

Are you sure you actually have a bold version of Futura Standard installed on your system. Regrettably, Word (and other Microsoft Office documents) allow for faux embolding. If you don't have an actual bold version of a font installed, Office will make believe that you do have such a font installed and artificially embolden it within the application if you select the bold attribute. Similarly, if you select the italic attribute, Office will oblique the regular style to simulate italic.

Many thanks indeed for such a quick reply. You might be onto something. It was actually Futura Standard Medium with Bold selected in Word that I was using. I can see from my list of fonts that although there is a Futura Standard Medium Oblique there is no Futura Standard Medium Bold.

Selecting Futura Standard Book (a very similar font) and using Bold it does work in a PDF - even though there is no Futura Standard Book Bold in my list of fonts. This might do for me as it's close enough but I'm just curious about what is happening. Before upgrading Word I used to be able to convert a bold version of Futura Standard Medium and now I can't.

I'm new to using obsidian and I'm finding that there isn't much difference between bold text and regular text, the bold is only slightly thicker and its hard to notice the difference. Is there a way to make bold text bolder?

I'd like to make a module that uses custom/script to represent workspaces in a non emwh compliant window manager I am working on. I've gotten the basics down and it works great, but I would like to make the selected window bold. shows underline/overline, but not bold; what formatting if any can I use to achieve this?

But that only works if he has the full font family enabled. Otherwise the browser will try to emulate it - as @malachiman said. It should work with the BSS settings and open sans. It has all types of enabled.

I know how to change my text, Edit > Change, and then use the options menu on the left. But, I don't know how to change the style of the text. I don't mind the font necessarily, but I want large, bold text but as far as I can tell size 13 is the largest and the font itself is very thin.

I am using a Skia font that I have used in other projects and programs (so the font should work). However, in Affinity Publisher, it does not properly export to pdf (even though it displays without problems in the UI).

I can't be 100% certain but I've found with Font Book on macOS that you physically need to delete (not just disable) the variable font version to avoid conflicts so it may be worth giving that a try to see if it makes any difference.

When you choose the style of the word, DO NOT just make it bold, you have to change the font name from "CMU Serif" to "CMU Serif Bold" (if you can't find this "CMU Serif Bold" font in the drop down menu, you can type it).

For this, I uninstalled the font, changed its font family to "CMU Serif BoldOnly" and installed it again. Then I selected "CMU Serif BoldOnly" as font in Word, which resulted the the correct font on screen and in the PDF export.

After I updated Joplin to Version 2.7.13, I noticed that bold formating does not appear green anymore. Is this an intended change? (If so, it is a pity: I like(d) the color emphases additionally to the bold formating. The difference between bold and normal text is not very pronounced.)

Cheers, Peter

I only ask because I stumbled upon an scenario (in an external system -- IBM Maximo Spatial) where I could put a HTML hyperlink in a db view's field -- and the map (ArcGIS JavaScript API?) picked up the HTML as a proper hyperlink. I would have never guessed that would work. Maybe HTML bolding would have worked too.

All fonts exhibit this issue except 'monospace'.

If i manually set the font-style to 'bold' in Konsole, I see bold fonts.

However, when I set the style to 'normal', the font does not bold when directed with:

Given that your font has a bold style (some fonts are missing it); i noticed that after changing font, restarting konsole is needed for bold to work; this happens with kde 4 and kf5 konsole as well.

Bold and Italic are not available options when editing in Nitro, unlike Word processors. For example, if I you are using Calibri and you want to make a section bold, you'll have to swap to the 'Calibri-Bold' font.

Click on the Edit tool, then select the text. The format tab will appear and here you can change the font type using the dropdown menu.

To be honest... I could've quite believe my eyes either, when I eventually discovered this. The suggestion above is unfortunately hardly helpful at all, as it just changes font of the whole text box. What if I need to just bold a sentence or a couple of words, inside of it? It seems not at all possible upon testing, with the above suggestion... I must verily say that such a function can be incredibly crucial at times!

Could this be a problem of your screen? Could you make a test using other applications with the same fonts and font size?

If the problem can be identified as a LibO issue, please file a bug report under:

This problem appears to relate either to the MacOS build of LO or the MacOS-provided copy of Papyrus TTC (which includes Regular and Condensed) v6.1d10e1 (i.e., the MacOS 10.6.8 version, dated 2009-01-09). The Apple font is generally better than the Microsoft-provided one. However in this case using LO v4.2.0.4 I am seeing the same thing as the OP: ff782bc1db
