LITERARY | There are Still Tomorrows

To the one who attempts to reach for the stars,

With one thought and hope in mind,

To the one who silently cries with the rain,

And shines bright like the sun:

I hope you’ll have the courage to stand,

Even when nights are the impossible battles of your life

I hope you’ll have the courage to be you,

Even when afternoons are dull.

I hope that morning sun embraces you with warmth,

The warmth that life could hardly offer.

I hope that mornings will be your everyday motivation,

The motivation to begin even when uncertain.

May your conversations in the coffee shops be interrupted,

While you wait for your favorite cake to be served.

May your conversations be cliffhangers,

So you’ll have to look forward to the next ones

May you come across how beautiful Japan is,

So you’ll have to dream yourself being in it.

May you come across how beautiful spring is,

So you’ll be in different seasons just to experience it.

I hope that your favorite artist visits your country,

That you’ll have to wait to hear them live.

I hope you blast to your comfort music,

While you wholeheartedly sing along with its lyrics.

I hope that you’ll enjoy your meal once more,

As much as you enjoyed it with your loved ones.

I hope that you dance in the kitchen,

While you mix up all the ingredients of your favorite dish.

May you haven’t met your soulmate,

For you to continue to long for it.

May you haven’t met the future you,

For you to believe in tomorrows.

May you have the courage to dream,

Even when darkness keeps you up at night.

May you have the courage to hope,

To thrive,

To survive,

And simply live.

Live through life’s challenges,

Live through storms

Because I hope even when nights are too dark,

You’ll still believe that the sun will rise.

I hope even when days are impossible,

You’ll still believe the sun will soon set.

I hope your yesterdays will be filled with love,

For your tomorrows will find ways to return it,

I hope your yesterdays will be filled with joy,

For your tomorrows will find ways to radiate it.

May you find someone who you want to spend your tomorrows with,

So you’ll keep looking for a reason to live through today.
