Festame is a personal reminder app for birthdays, name days, anniversaries, and appointments. This policy explains what the app stores on your phone and what is sent to other services when you create an account.
The person responsible for this app is Charalampos Kalogiannakis. You can reach them at charalampos.kalogiannakis@gmail.com.
Information you add
You can save an event with a name, a date, a category, and an optional note. You can also add a photo. Photos are stored on your device. Festame does not upload the picture file to its servers.
You can import birthdays and anniversaries from your contacts. Festame reads the contact’s name and the birthday or anniversary date you choose to import. It does not save phone numbers.
You can take a photo or scan a QR code with the camera. The camera is used only for that action.
Account
An account is optional. You can sign up with an email and password, or with Google. Firebase Authentication, a Google service, handles sign-in, email verification, and password reset. Festame does not keep your password.
If you sign in, Festame stores your display name, email address, and date of birth if you add one. Those details, together with your events, are saved in Firebase Realtime Database under your account so they can be restored on another sign-in. The cloud copy includes event names, dates, notes, and categories. It does not include the photo file.
Signing out removes the account session on the device. Deleting your account removes the Firebase account and the cloud copy of your profile and events. Events that exist only on the phone stay there until you delete them in the app or uninstall Festame.
Notifications and the home-screen widget
Reminders are scheduled on your phone. They are not sent through a push service. A reminder can show the person’s name and the type of event. The home-screen widget reads the same events from the app’s local storage.
If you turn on biometric unlock, the phone’s own fingerprint or face system checks that it is you. Festame stores only whether you enabled that option. It does not receive your fingerprint or face data.
Analytics and crash reports
Festame uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics. Analytics records actions such as signing in, adding or deleting an event, syncing, and opening a notification. Crashlytics records crash information so the app can be fixed. These services may receive device information and an advertising identifier. Festame does not show ads.
Giphy
When you open a wish, Festame may ask Giphy for a GIF. That request includes a short search phrase, such as “birthday cake”, and the request is sent to Giphy. It does not include the name of the person whose event you opened.
Device backup
If Android backup is turned on for your phone, a copy of the app’s local data may be included in your device backup.
How long information is kept
Events and your profile stay until you delete them, delete your account, or uninstall the app. Firebase keeps the cloud copy until the account is deleted. Analytics and crash data are kept according to Google’s retention settings for those products.
Sharing
Festame does not sell your information. Information is processed by Google through Firebase Authentication, Firebase Realtime Database, Firebase Analytics, and Firebase Crashlytics, and by Giphy when a wish GIF is loaded. Those companies process data under their own privacy policies.
Children
Festame is not directed at children under 16. If you add an event for someone else, including a child, you are responsible for having a proper reason to store their name and date.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated text will be published at this page with a new date.
