Jessica Castle - President- Elect
Jessica was born and raised in Southeastern Pennsylvania, where she lived with her family until November 2021 when they relocated to Bothell. Jessica and her husband, Mark, have three boys; two are Fernwood students. Cooper is in 4th grade and Cole is in 2nd grade. Their youngest, Luke, is 4 years old and is (not so) patiently waiting for his turn to be a Fernwood Panther like his big brothers! Jessica is a former Director of Annual Giving for a private school in Pennsylvania. In that position, she was responsible for general fundraising, including creating all direct fundraising materials, and organizing parent and alumnae volunteers. Jessica served as chair of fundraising during the 2023-205 school years. She will be serving as Fernwood PTSA President-elect for the 2025-26 school year.

Maruthi - Advocay
Hello, everyone! My name is Maruthi, and I’m thrilled to serve as the Advocacy representative for our PTA board. Originally from India, I’ve called the Seattle area home since 2011. I’m married to my college friend, whose positivity and patience inspire me daily, and together we’re raising two amazing kids—a 12-year-old boy and a 6-year-old girl—who keep us on our toes!
By day, I’ve been a data engineer at Microsoft for the past 13 years, a role I truly enjoy. In my personal life, I thrive on multitasking and staying organized, with a go-getter attitude and a stubborn streak to see things through. These qualities drive my passion for advocacy, where I’m committed to shaping a bright future for our children by championing their needs and supporting our school’s vision. I’m excited to collaborate with all of you to make a positive impact!
Baghyalakshmi Kannan - Membership Chair
Hi Fernwood families! I'm so glad to see you all here. My name is Baghyalakshmi, and I'm excited to be serving as your PTSA Membership Chair this year.
A little about me — I'm a proud Fernwood parent where my kids are studying 4th grade and 1st grade this year. I’m passionate about helping families feel connected and involved in our school community.
I have been volunteering in Fernwood school and I have seen firsthand how much the PTSA does for our kids and school and that’s what inspired me to get more involved.
As Membership Chair, my role is to encourage as many families, teachers, and students as possible to join the PTSA. Membership isn’t just about attending meetings or volunteering—it’s about showing support for our school and helping us provide programs, resources, and events that benefit every child.
This year, our goal is to grow our membership so every voice in our school community feels represented. Let's make this year our best one yet! Join or renew your membership today to help make a difference and enjoy some fantastic perks along the way.
Thanks for your support!
