Linking word punctuation rules:

• Semicolon ( ; ) with conjunctive sdverbs: Use a semicolon to separate two independent clauses (complete sentences) when the second one begins with a conjunctive adverb (e.g., however, therefore, consequently, moreover). Follow the adverb with a comma (e.g., [clause1]; however, [clause].)

• Comma ( , ) with subordinating conjunctions: Use a comma after a dependent clause (that cannot stand alone) when it comes before an independent clause (e.g., Although it was cold, we went out).

• Comma ( , ) with introductory phrases/adverbs: Use a comma after introductory phrases or adverbs at the beginning of a sentence (e.g., In conclusion, ...; To summarise, ...).

Rewrite the original sentences into one grammatically correct and coherent sentence using linking word and the appropriate punctuation.  

1. Original: Renewable energy is essential for the future. Fossil fuels are still the primary source of power.
