Feed Calm does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any data. Everything it does happens locally in your browser:
Keyword matching runs entirely on-device against text already visible on pages you're viewing. No page content, browsing history, or personal information is ever sent anywhere.
Settings (enabled categories, custom keywords, whitelist terms, site toggles) are stored using Chrome's built-in storage.sync API, which syncs only across your own signed-in Chrome profile via your Google account — the extension's developer has no access to it.
No analytics, no third-party servers, no remote code. The extension makes zero network requests.
Permissions: Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube are requested by default because filtering those feeds is the extension's core purpose. Access to other websites is optional and requested only when you explicitly enable "News / other sites" in the popup — you can revoke it at any time from the same toggle or from chrome://extensions.
