The USS Spirit of St. Louis is the former Flagship of the UFP, and served with the 1st fleet. The ship is named for the first Coalition against Liam Flagship, and is the 3rd highest ranking vessel serving in the Federation, after the USS Forward unto Dawn (120 battlestars) and the USS Enterprise (153 battlestars).
The Spirit of St. Louis is the 4th ship in the United Federation to bear that name, and is the 123 Spirit-class Destroyer in the Federation. She was built as the Flagship in July of 2017, almost right after the previous S.o S.L. was lost in action and about 4 days after the New Federation was renamed to the United Federation. She was built in the State of New Archton, located very near the Capitol of Patrick Marsh, by Gateway Paper Plane Corporation LTD.
The Spirit was, like her predecessor, a great success in flight testing, outdoing some older Firestars, the mainstay of the 2nd Fleet. Using her large wings, the Spirit flew for long distances upward without stalling, and glided down to the Ground. The Plane saw no active service in wartime, but served as Federation flagship until President Ainsley Wall was sworn in, changing the Flagship from the Spirit to the USS Forward unto Dawn.
The plane will be retired very soon, as she is damaged and aging. Her name has already been chosen for a Lake Carriage-class Destroyer, a smaller but more modern design. Unfortunately for many older members of the Federation this is most likely the beginning of the Phasing Out of the Spirit-class Destroyers, as they were around for long before the Federation existed.
