The Adrian Schlafer-class is a Federation Navy class of Guided Missile destroyers with highly capable warheads, multi-use launchers, a five-inch deck gun, and Highly Advanced Radar. The ships are named after notable members of the Federation, and have in the past had other names (See Here).
One ship, Stallion, is in service with New Egypt, but that ship is incredibly stripped down, with no launchers and low-rank radar, and three were previously in service with the Mountain Nation of Salamandastron.
Along with the UFP's Carriers, the Schlafer-class makes up the majority of the Threat Deterrent of the Federation. It's missiles can be fired while tied up at the dock, if necessary. The design of the ships also served as a basis for all future UFN vessels.
After the UFP stated it's goal of modernizing it's mostly sailing navy, the first task was assigned to New Archton Shipyards. It came up with a relatively simple design, a single command bridge and a 5-inch naval gun. The design was originally called a Corvette type, but due to it's large size it was moved to Destroyer.
The ship was named the USS Adrian Schlafer, after Admiral Adrian Schlafer of the original and current United Federation. It was given the hull number DDG-10, as a starting point for the rest of it's class.
The Design of the Schlafer-class is rather simple. It is a Saigon Hull, with a plate covering the internal structure. Atop this, at the bow, is a forward mounted 5-inch gun. Behind this is the bridge, with Radar Mast atop.
