If you want a dedicated, secure storage solution for two long guns behind your front seat during vehicle transport, choose FEATCH Metal Headrest Gun; if you need a rugged, precision-fit organization system for drinks and gear in the rear cabin of a Can-Am Defender MAX, choose AugustknowU Steel Cup Holder.
These are not interchangeable tools. One is engineered specifically for tire maintenance and firearm security in standard trucks, while the other is built from heavy-duty steel to withstand the vibration and debris of off-road UTV trails. Getting this wrong means buying a product that either won't fit your vehicle or fails to hold your gear securely when it matters most. I have analyzed the design specifications and feature sets of both units to help you make the final call without getting lost in marketing fluff.
• FEATCH Metal Headrest Gun: Its biggest strength is the dual independent clamp system designed to hold two long guns upright without scratching them, but its trade-off is that it is strictly limited to vehicles with compatible headrest posts and cannot be used for general cargo or beverages.
• AugustknowU Steel Cup Holder: Its biggest strength is the high-strength CNC steel construction built to resist rust and mud while organizing multiple items like phones and gloves, but its trade-off is that it is an extremely specific part made only for the Can-Am Defender MAX rear cabin and fits nothing else.
• Who each pick is for: Choose FEATCH if you drive a truck and need to organize firearms safely behind the driver or passenger seat; choose AugustknowU if you own a Can-Am Defender MAX and need a durable rear rack for trail essentials.
The FEATCH Metal Headrest Gun Rack is designed with a singular, result-first purpose: keeping two long guns upright and organized directly behind the front seats of a vehicle. This isn't a generic shelf or a loose holder; it is a structural assembly meant to transform the space between the seats into a secure staging area. The core of its design lies in the metal crossbar assembly, which connects upper sliding hooks to lower clamps, creating a unified unit that hangs securely on the headrest posts. This approach ensures that whether you are heading out for a day of hunting or simply transporting your equipment, the firearms stay vertical and out of the way of passengers.
What makes this unit stand out in its category is the sliding hook mechanism combined with separate clamp control. You can move both hook plates along the top slots to match the specific layout of your vehicle's headrest posts before tightening them down. This adaptability is crucial because every truck interior has slightly different spacing. Once the hooks are positioned, the knob-adjusted setup allows you to tighten the top knobs, and then use the individual side knobs to adjust the opening of each clamp independently. This means you can accommodate different stock widths or barrel shapes without forcing a one-size-fits-all grip that might damage the finish of your rifle or shotgun.

This product is ideal for the owner who values organization and safety above all else. If you frequently carry two long guns in your truck bed and want them accessible yet secured during transit, this rack provides a stable platform that keeps the seating area clear. However, it is also clear who should skip this product entirely. If you do not own a vehicle with standard headrest posts, or if you need to store short-barreled weapons, non-firearm items, or anything other than two long guns, this unit will not serve you well. It is a specialized tool for a very specific job: securing two long firearms in a standard truck cab. It does not offer versatility for general cargo, and its black metal design is purely functional rather than decorative.
In stark contrast to the firearm-focused design of the FEATCH unit, the AugustknowU Steel Cup Holder is an engineering marvel built for the brutal environment of off-road utility terrain vehicles. Specifically engineered for the Can-Am Defender MAX rear cabin, this rack combines dual cup holders with a diamond-pattern mesh grid to create a versatile storage zone. The primary goal here is ultimate organization in a space that is constantly subjected to dust, water, and vibration. By combining drink holders with a mesh surface, it allows you to stash gloves, phones, and small tools alongside your beverages, ensuring that everything stays put even when you are navigating rough terrain.
The construction of the AugustknowU holder is where its value truly shines. It is crafted from high-strength CNC steel, a material choice that speaks to durability and longevity. The powder-coated finish, available in Black or Red, is specifically treated to resist rust, mud, and water exposure. This substantial weight suggests a robust build quality designed to handle the rigors of tire maintenance tasks, heavy tool usage, or intense recreational riding without failing. The precision fit is another critical factor, as it mounts using included hardware for a stable, factory-style installation that requires no drilling or unnecessary modifications.
Who should buy this? Any Can-Am Defender MAX owner looking to maximize the utility of their rear cabin should consider this upgrade. Whether you are using the vehicle for work, hunting, or recreation, having a dedicated spot for drinks and gear prevents clutter and keeps essential items within easy reach. The ability to mount it quickly with basic hand tools means you can install it yourself without visiting a hardware store or paying for professional labor. However, the trade-off is absolute specificity. This product is useless unless you own the exact model it was designed for. If you have a different UTV, a side-by-side from another manufacturer, or any vehicle that is not a Can-Am Defender MAX, this item will not fit. It is a niche solution for a specific platform, offering no flexibility for other applications.

After weighing the specifications and intended use cases, I would personally buy the FEATCH Metal Headrest Gun if my primary vehicle is a truck used for hauling firearms. The ability to slide the hooks and adjust the clamps independently gives me confidence that my guns are secure and the cabin remains uncluttered. However, for anyone seeking a solution for tire maintenance in a truck, the FEATCH unit offers the necessary stability to keep tools and weapons organized while working or driving. Conversely, if you are a Can-Am Defender MAX owner, the AugustknowU Steel Cup Holder is the only logical choice due to its precise fit and rugged steel build. In my opinion, the decision comes down entirely to your vehicle type and what you need to carry: choose FEATCH for truck-based firearm security and tire maintenance organization, or choose AugustknowU for a durable, all-in-one rear cabin solution for your UTV.
