My name is Cody Lucy and I am the Youth Pastor at First Baptist Church, Taylor, Arkansas. I have been in the ministry for going on four years now, and just finished my first year at FBC Taylor. I surrendered to the ministry in 2020 right before graduating college. I began working as part time Youth Pastor at Beacon Baptist Church , where I served for two years before joining the FBC Taylor family as full time Youth Pastor. Serving Jesus is my passion and loving God and loving people is something that we are all called to do. One of the things that many people hear growing up is, " The youth is the church of tomorrow." I disagree. I believe the youth is the church of TODAY, so my goal for my youth students is to teach them how to love God, and how to serve people NOW. It is never too early to start being the church. Of course, my main goal for my students is for them to have a personal, real, salvation relationship with Jesus Christ. That is priority. After that, I hope to teach them how to be true disciples for Him, which is something I am continually learning as well. We all need to be. Always remember, Jesus died for you, so why would you not want to live for Him?
After surrendering to special ministry in 1994, the Lord led Bro. Josh Wilson down a path of music education, including concert bands, marching bands, praise bands, choirs, and singing groups that provided him with the experience and knowledge to lead music in worship services. In 1997, his calling was made clear when he was blessed with the opportunity to begin serving in this capacity, and has continued in that calling ever since.
Bro. Josh became the music director of First Baptist Church in June of 2003. It is his belief that all believers, regardless of their personal opinions of their talent, have the responsibility to use those gifts in which God has given them to promote His glory and praise.
I Peter 4:10 - "As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God."
