Freddy Fazbear's Pizza
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Freddy Fazbear's Pizza (formerly Fredbear's Family Diner and Fredbear and Friends) was a chain of family restaurants discontinued in the 1990s. This chain was owned by Fazbear Entertainment, and was started in Salado, Texas by Henry Belton and William Afton. The pizzeria chain's namesake was a brown animatronic bear who sang songs and performed comedy acts with his band members.
Fredbear's Family Diner, housing Fredbear, a yellow, larger version of Freddy Fazbear, and Bonnie, a dark yellow animatronic rabbit, opened in 1973. Afton and Belton were just by themselves in this Salado location, but it was quite popular for the time. Around five hundred people gathered around the small diner during its grand opening.
Fredbear and Friends was a 1983 TV show featuring the "Fazbear crew", Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie the Rabbit, Chica the Chicken, and Foxy the Pirate, accompanied by Fredbear. It was shut down shortly after the pilot aired.
Freddy Fazbear's Pizza stretched from 1983 to 1993, and was highly regarded as one of the top kids' restaurants. Going through change after change, the restaurant chain went from Fredbear and Bonnie to a revamped Fazbear crew and finally back to the original crew of animatronics.
Fazbear Entertainment was founded in 1983, once Afton and Belton decided to start it as a company.
