Even though this is a (not really actually) dangerous animal in New Zealand, this spider isn't from Australia. Or the US, stop saying it's a black widow. Your chances of being bitten by one are extremely low, especially because there is only an estimated 3,000 Katipo left because of habitat destruction, and it's rarer than some species of kiwi. The death from a Katipo was in 1901 anyways.
