^, <, >? No, not that chevron. Chevron Skinks are New Zealand's longest lizard, and can be over 30cm long, or around the same length as a Tui. The Chevron Skink was first described in 1906, but was only reported 2 more times until the 1970s, and was considered lost from science. The culprit? Introd- I mean, incorrect museum labels. Nowadays they are only found on both Barrier Islands, and still only have 500 sightings.
