I'm Fathima Zarin Faizal, a first-year PhD student in EECS at MIT. My research interests broadly lie in statistics and optimization. At MIT, I am currently working with Asu Ozdaglar and Martin Wainwright.

I obtained my Bachelors+Masters degree in Electrical Engineering (five year dual degree) from IIT Bombay. I worked with Prof. Vivek Borkar for my Masters project on Stochastic Approximation. In the past, I have been fortunate to work with Prof. Nikhil Karamchandani and Prof. Sharayu Moharir on Online Caching, and with Prof. Jayakrishnan Nair on a constrained multi-armed bandit problem.
