Privacy Policy for Fate Says

Last updated: August 1, 2026

Fate Says is a random decision helper created by Egils Broks (Broks Tech). This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles, how it is used, and the choices available to you.

1. Data controller

For privacy matters relating to Fate Says, the data controller is:

Egils Broks (Broks Tech), Latvia

broks.tech@gmail.com

2. Information handled by the app

Fate Says lets you use a classic yes-or-no chooser, spin a yes-or-no wheel, and enter between two and ten custom options for a random selection.

The app handles:

This information is used only to provide the feature you request on your device.

3. No account and limited third-party processing

The current version of Fate Says does not require an account and does not operate a developer-controlled backend for questions, custom options, or generated results. That content is not transmitted to Egils Broks, Broks Tech, or RevenueCat.

Fate Says uses RevenueCat, a third-party purchase-management service, to validate purchases, provide Pro access, restore purchases, prevent purchase fraud, and provide purchase analytics. RevenueCat may process an anonymous app user identifier, purchase history, Apple transaction or receipt information, product and entitlement status, and limited technical information such as device type, operating system, app version, locale, and currency. Payment-card and billing details are handled by Apple and are not provided to Fate Says or RevenueCat.

The app does not include advertising SDKs, cross-app tracking technologies, or a developer-controlled cloud database. RevenueCat is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking. We do not sell personal information.

4. Local processing and retention

The classic chooser locally stores its three most recent questions and results so that Last Calls remains available when you reopen the feature or relaunch the app. The custom chooser locally stores its three most recent selected results and the number of options used for each selection so that Last Picks remains available when you reopen the feature or relaunch the app. Older entries are overwritten by new entries. The full custom option list remains in screen memory while you use that feature and is not included in saved history.

The Fate Says widget locally saves only its most recent result so the answer remains visible on your Home Screen. A new widget result overwrites it, and the widget's Reset button deletes it.

The sound-effects setting is stored locally until you change it.

The free-decision counter and a cached copy of your Pro entitlement status are stored locally so the app can preserve access state between launches. RevenueCat retains purchase and entitlement records as needed to validate and restore purchases, provide its service, prevent fraud, comply with law, and maintain purchase analytics. Deleting the app removes local app state but does not cancel a subscription or necessarily delete Apple or RevenueCat transaction records.

Use Clear within the classic or custom chooser to delete that feature's saved history. Reset clears the current custom option fields but does not delete saved Last Picks. Other temporary information may disappear when you leave a feature or close the app. Deleting the app removes its local state, subject to Apple's operating system and backup behavior.

5. Apple and RevenueCat services

Fate Says relies on Apple platform services, including iOS, SwiftUI, Siri, Shortcuts, App Intents, system fonts, SF Symbols, audio playback, and system haptic feedback.

If you run the Decide Yes or No App Shortcut through Siri, Shortcuts, Spotlight, or another Apple system surface, Apple processes the invocation and presents or speaks the randomly generated answer according to your Apple account, device settings, and Apple's privacy policies. The shortcut does not send the request or answer to the developer.

Apple processes App Store downloads, payments, subscription management, refunds, device operation, crash reports, and diagnostics under Apple's own terms and privacy policies. Depending on your Apple and device privacy settings, Apple may provide developers with aggregated App Store analytics or diagnostic information. The app does not use that information to identify you or build a profile about you.

RevenueCat processes purchase and entitlement information as described above and under RevenueCat's privacy policy. Fate Says uses anonymous RevenueCat app user identifiers and does not provide RevenueCat with your name, email address, advertising identifier, questions, custom options, or generated results.

6. Information we do not collect from the app

Fate Says does not transmit the following information to the developer:

7. Support communications

If you contact us by email, we receive your email address, message, and any information you choose to include. We use that information only to respond, provide support, protect the app, or meet legal obligations. Support correspondence is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes.

Please do not include sensitive personal information in a support message unless it is necessary for your request.

8. Legal basis

Where European data protection law applies, local processing in the app occurs to provide the functionality you request. If you contact us, we process your communication to respond to your request, based on our legitimate interest in providing support or taking steps at your request, and to meet applicable legal obligations where necessary.

9. Children

Fate Says is a general-audience utility and is not directed specifically to children under 13 or below the minimum age required by local law. The app does not knowingly collect children's personal information through a developer-controlled server. If you believe a child has sent personal information to us by email, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

10. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of personal information and to withdraw consent.

Because content entered in the app is not accessible to the developer, you control it directly through the app by clearing the saved classic or custom history, leaving or resetting a feature, or deleting the app. For information you send directly to us, such as a support email, or for a request relating to RevenueCat purchase records associated with your anonymous app user identifier, contact us using the address below. Some transaction records may need to be retained for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, or purchase-restoration purposes.

If European data protection law applies, you may also lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your country or with the Latvian Data State Inspectorate.

11. International users

Fate Says does not operate a developer-controlled backend for app content. If you contact us directly, your communication may be processed in Latvia or by the providers used to deliver email, subject to applicable safeguards and those providers' privacy practices.

12. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app, our practices, or legal requirements change. The revised policy will show a new "Last updated" date and will be made available with the app or through its published policy page.
