About me

CURRENT POSITIONS

· Licensed Professional Engineer in Province of Nova Scotia since 1986

· Professor

Department of Mechanical Engineering, Dalhousie University

· Adjunct Professor

Ocean and Naval Architectural Engineering, Memorial University of Newfoundland (since 2004)

My Interests

Mainly interested in understanding and modelling of mechanical systems and materials’ responses with computational and experimental methods in order to develop effective and practical materials and structural components, hence offering cost-effective solutions. Expertise in developing effective design and experimental programs for specific case studies. Established record of experience in computational mechanics, mathematical modelling and experimental characterization of fiber-reinforced composite materials (static & dynamic); and damage detection using smart sensors and materials; fatigue, and fracture of materials; characterization of impact response and other highly nonlinear events of structural materials.
