Welcome: On 29 November 2025 we hope to welcome you to the fourth Functional Analysis and Operator Theory South Africa (FAOTSA) workshop, which will take place at Nelson Mandela University, before the start of the 68th Annual Congress of the South African Mathematical Society. FAOTSA 2025 will bring together the South African functional analysis community, including postgraduate students, postdocs and early career academics, along with some international specialists to foster discussion and collaboration.
Program: This year's FAOTSA workshop will consist of two mini-courses, together with some working and information sessions. More details will be announced in due time. Participants that want to present their research are encouraged to give a talk in the Functional Analysis and Operator Theory session at the SAMS congress.

Support for postgraduate students, postdocs and early career academics: The Centre of Excellence for Mathematical and Statistical Sciences (CoE-MaSS) has provided funding to support the attendance of a limited number of South African based postgraduate students, postdocs and early career academics (<5 years from PhD). Demographics have to be taken into account in the selection of the participants that are supported, and only very few participants that are not South African or have permanent residence in South Africa can be supported. When registering for the workshop, please indicate the categories which apply to you, provide a short motivation and upload a CV (postdocs and early career academics). We have also received funding from the London Mathematical Society to support a very limited number of international participants from other African countries.
With any questions or comments, please contact one of the organizers.
