If you want safety, situational awareness, and a secure fit for running in the rain, choose FANSAISI Bone Conduction Headphones; if you need deep bass, extended battery life for long flights, and a comfortable foldable design for travel, choose JBL Tune 510BT. These two devices occupy opposite ends of the audio spectrum, solving completely different problems for the modern listener.
• FANSAISI: The standout strength is its open-ear bone conduction technology that keeps your ears free for environmental awareness, paired with an IP67 waterproof rating and a visible LED strip for night safety; however, it lacks active noise cancellation and offers less bass depth than traditional drivers.
• JBL Tune 510BT: Its primary advantage is the signature JBL Pure Bass sound and an impressive 40-hour battery life with rapid charging capabilities, making it ideal for immersion; the trade-off is the on-ear design which blocks some ambient sound and can feel warmer during intense activity.
• The Verdict: Pick the FANSAISI for outdoor sports, night runs, or situations where hearing traffic is non-negotiable; pick the JBL for airplane travel, office focus, or when you want to lose yourself in the music without distraction.
The FANSAISI Bone Conduction Headphones are engineered specifically for people who cannot afford to be isolated from their surroundings. The core technology here is bone conduction, which transmits sound vibrations directly through your cheekbones to your inner ear, leaving your ear canals completely open. This design choice is not just a gimmick; it is a critical safety feature for anyone who exercises outdoors, runs near traffic, or cycles in urban environments. You get full stereo sound while still hearing cars honking, cyclists approaching, or someone calling your name.
These headphones shine in adverse weather conditions. With an IP67 waterproof rating, they are built to handle heavy sweat during high-intensity workouts and can even withstand a sudden downpour without suffering damage. The inclusion of moisture detection alerts adds a layer of protection, ensuring the device doesn't suffer electrical issues if charged while damp. For the runner who trains at dawn or dusk, the integrated LED neckband strip is a game-changer. It allows you to control visibility with a simple button press, making you highly visible to passing vehicles in low-light conditions.

You should buy this if you prioritize safety over sonic perfection. The lightweight titanium neckband ensures the unit stays put during vigorous movement, and the Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity provides a stable link up to 33 feet away. However, if you are looking for a product that isolates you from the world to create a private audio bubble, this is not the tool for you. There is no noise control technology here; instead, there is total transparency. The 12-hour battery life is sufficient for a marathon training cycle or a full day of commuting, but it falls short of the endurance required for multi-day backpacking trips without access to power.
The JBL Tune 510BT Wireless On-Ear Headphones are designed for the traveler and the audiophile who values immersive sound quality above all else. The defining characteristic of these headphones is the JBL Pure Bass Sound, delivered by 32-millimeter dynamic drivers. If your primary goal is to feel the thump of a kick drum or hear the rich texture of a cello in a recording, these on-ear cups provide a level of depth and impact that open-ear designs simply cannot match. They wrap around your ears with cushioned pads, creating a physical seal that enhances the bass response and reduces external interference.
For frequent flyers or commuters spending hours in transit, the battery performance is unmatched. A single charge delivers up to 40 hours of continuous playback, which is more than enough for multiple cross-country flights or a week of daily commutes. The speed charge feature is equally practical; a quick five-minute charge gives you two extra hours of listening time, perfect for those moments when you forget to plug them in before heading out. The foldable design, accompanied by a protective carrying case, makes these exceptionally portable. They tuck away neatly into a bag without taking up much space, protecting the headband and ear cushions from crushing.
This product is ideal for webinars, Zoom calls, and focused work sessions where you need to block out office chatter or household noise. While they do not actively cancel noise electronically, the on-ear fit provides passive isolation that helps you concentrate. The multi-point connectivity allows you to switch seamlessly between your laptop for a meeting and your phone for a call, ensuring you never miss an important interaction. However, the 0.5 kg weight (including the case) and the on-ear pressure might become uncomfortable for some users after several hours of continuous wear, especially in hot climates. They are not designed for swimming or heavy sweating, so they lack the rugged durability needed for extreme sports.

After analyzing the specifications and intended use cases, I would personally choose the JBL Tune 510BT for my own everyday carry, particularly for airplane travel. The combination of 40-hour battery life, the convenience of a folding case, and the rich, immersive sound profile makes it the superior companion for long journeys and daily commutes where I want to disconnect from the noise of the airport or train station. The ability to quickly top up the battery with a five-minute charge is a feature I rely on heavily when traveling.
However, if your priority shifts to outdoor safety or intense physical activity, the FANSAISI becomes the clear winner. Ultimately, the decision rests on whether you want to block out the world to enjoy your music or stay connected to it while listening. For most travelers seeking comfort and longevity, the JBL is the pragmatic choice.
Generally, no. While the FANSAISI model keeps your ears open, it does not block engine noise. The JBL Tune 510BT offers better passive isolation and deeper sound, making it more suitable for blocking out cabin noise during flights.
Yes, both models support faster-than-standard charging, but the JBL Tune 510BT is superior with a 5-minute charge delivering 2 hours of playtime, compared to the FANSAISI's standard 1.5-hour full charge cycle.
The FANSAISI Bone Conduction Headphones are the better choice for running and high-sweat workouts due to their IP67 waterproof rating and secure, open-ear fit. The JBL Tune 510BT is not rated for water and may slip or become uncomfortable with heavy perspiration.
The JBL Tune 510BT features multi-point connectivity, allowing you to connect to two devices at once and switch effortlessly. The FANSAISI supports connecting to two devices but focuses more on stability for a single active stream during sports.
