If you want a wired monitor earphone with a natural, full atmosphere and a unique 3D-printed shell for small ears, choose Fanmusic TRUTHEAR x Crinacle; if you need a versatile HiFi in-ear monitor with interchangeable cables and enhanced spatial performance for classical or vocal tracks, choose Moondrop LAN ll Earphone.
• Fanmusic TRUTHEAR x Crinacle: Its biggest strength is the DLP 3D-printed cavity and glue-dropping process that creates a lightweight, skin-friendly fit ideal for smaller ear canals, while its trade-off is the fixed cable design which limits upgradeability. This pick is for listeners who prioritize a natural timbre and a secure, comfortable fit for long listening sessions without bulk.
• Moondrop LAN ll Earphone: Its biggest strength is the flexible 0.78mm interchangeable cable system and the high-efficiency dual-magnetic driver structure that delivers exceptional resolution, while its trade-off is the stainless steel housing which may feel heavier or less forgiving for very small ears compared to resin options. This pick is for audiophiles seeking precise instrument separation and the ability to swap cables for different setups like stage monitoring or gaming.
The Fanmusic TRUTHEAR x Crinacle Zero is built for the listener who values objective accuracy but refuses to sacrifice comfort. The design philosophy here centers on a "sandwich structure" for the whole cavity, combining a front cavity, a decorative panel, and a specialized capping process. What makes this particularly relevant for someone with small ears is the manufacturing method itself. By utilizing DLP 3D printing technology, usually reserved for high-end custom monitors, the creators achieved an acoustic nozzle structure that is difficult to replicate with traditional molding. This results in a cavity that is not only delicate but also lightweight, ensuring that the earpiece sits comfortably without feeling like it is pushing deep into the canal.
The sound signature is equally thoughtful for those who find professional monitors too cold or rigid. While the Zero boasts objective indicators comparable to high-end professional gear, the tuning avoids the harshness often associated with strict technical targets. It features a proper low-frequency gain and a high-frequency response that aligns with HRTF characteristics. This means the sound feels natural and full of atmosphere rather than sterile. The use of dual polyurethane suspension composite liquid-crystal dome diaphragms paired with N52 Rubidium magnets allows the two dynamic drivers to perform their respective roles without phase distortion issues common in hybrid multi-driver designs. You get a clean convergence across the frequency range, eliminating the unnatural listening experience that can plague complex driver setups.

However, this product comes with a specific set of constraints that define who should skip it. The most significant limitation is the connectivity. This is a wired-only solution with a fixed 3.5mm jack. There is no Bluetooth capability built-in, and the cable is not interchangeable. If your workflow requires you to switch between a phone, a laptop, and a dedicated DAC frequently, or if you plan to upgrade to a balanced cable later, this model will feel limiting. Additionally, while the materials are medical-grade and skin-friendly, the reliance on the glue-dropping process and hand-polishing means the aesthetic is fixed. You cannot change the look or feel once purchased. It is best suited for the person who wants a dedicated, high-fidelity pair of earphones to leave connected to a source, prioritizing sound quality and comfort over portability and modularity.
The Moondrop LAN ll Earphone targets a different segment of the audio enthusiast: the user who demands versatility and precision in a modular package. The core appeal here lies in the universal 0.78mm interchangeable cable design. This feature transforms the earphone from a static device into a system component. Whether you need to extend the cable length for stage monitoring, attach a microphone cable for conference calls, or connect a Bluetooth adapter for wireless freedom, the design accommodates these needs effortlessly. For users with small ears who might struggle with bulky dongles or non-detachable wires, this flexibility allows for a cleaner setup where the cable management is entirely up to the user.
Under the hood, the LAN II utilizes advanced materials that push the boundaries of what a single dynamic driver can achieve. The star of the show is the new glass dome composite diaphragm. At just 0.05 mm thick, this solid glass dome offers an ultra-high Young's modulus and an exceptional internal resistance coefficient. These properties allow for high-frequency extension and resolution that traditional polymer diaphragms simply cannot match. Paired with a high-efficiency double magnetic driver structure using two concentric N52 magnets, the voice coil drives the diaphragm with uniform and symmetrical magnetic flux density exceeding 1T in the magnetic gap. This engineering ensures smooth, dynamic acoustic performance that shines especially well in instrumental and classical music.
Moondrop has also refined the tuning into distinct versions to suit specific tastes. The LAN II-REF model fine-tunes the mid-high frequencies and instrumental parts to enhance spatial performance, making it ideal for classical interpretations. Conversely, the LAN II-POP version emphasizes mid-bass and vocals, creating an atmospheric presentation perfect for pop music. This level of tuning specificity is rare in entry-level to mid-range devices. However, the build material is a critical factor for small-eared users. The housing is crafted from metal stainless steel using Metal Injection Molding (MIM). While this provides durability and a premium feel, metal housings generally have more mass and a different thermal conductivity than resin. For some users with very small ear canals, the weight and shape of a stainless steel earpiece might be less comfortable during extended wear compared to lighter, molded alternatives. It is the choice for the tinkerer and the critical listener who wants to optimize their signal chain and enjoys the nuance of glass diaphragm acoustics.

In my opinion, if you are buying a pair of earphones specifically because you have small ears and need them to stay comfortable for hours without slipping, the Fanmusic TRUTHEAR x Crinacle is the superior choice. The combination of the DLP 3D-printed cavity and the lightweight resin construction addresses the physical fit issue better than almost any other option in this price bracket. The sound is natural and full, avoiding the fatigue that heavy metal shells or cold-sounding drivers can cause. However, if you are willing to accept a slightly heavier shell in exchange for the ability to upgrade your cables and extract maximum detail from your music library, the Moondrop LAN ll Earphone is the more powerful tool. I would personally buy the Fanmusic TRUTHEAR x Crinacle for daily commuting and casual listening because the fit is unmatched, but I would keep the Moondrop LAN ll in my collection for critical listening sessions where the extra resolution and cable swapping capabilities shine. Both are excellent, but the decision ultimately rests on whether your priority is physical comfort or acoustic modularity.
Yes, both models cater to smaller ears, but differently. The Fanmusic TRUTHEAR x Crinacle uses a lightweight 3D-printed resin design that naturally fits smaller canals comfortably. The Moondrop LAN ll uses a stainless steel housing which is durable but heavier; it includes multiple eartip sizes to help seal smaller ears, though the shell itself is larger than resin options.
Neither of these products features active noise cancellation (ANC) based on their specifications. They rely on passive noise isolation provided by the physical seal of the ear tips and the in-ear design to block out external sounds.
The Fanmusic TRUTHEAR x Crinacle comes with a standard 3.5mm jack, so it plugs directly into phones with a headphone port. The Moondrop LAN ll includes a 3.5mm single-ended adapter alongside its 4.4mm balanced cable, allowing it to work with most modern smartphones, though the 4.4mm connection requires a compatible player or dongle.
Value depends on your needs. If you want a straightforward, high-quality sound with no hassle regarding cables or upgrades, the Fanmusic TRUTHEAR x Crinacle offers great value through its unique manufacturing process. If you prefer a system that grows with you—allowing you to add balanced cables or Bluetooth adapters—the Moondrop LAN ll provides a more versatile long-term investment.
