The Young family of Country Limerick were a palatine family of the Methodist/Irish Church, originally known as Yung. COI, marriage records date back to the early 1700s Limerick, for the family with following examples: 

• Ann Young and John Tierney, 16 April 1735, Limerick 

• Rachel Young and Broughton Collier, 21 Nov 1743, St. Munchin

• Honour Young and Ambrose Beckwith, 30 April 1753, St. Munchin

• Joseph Young and Alice Barrington, 29 April 1764, St. Johns. 

• Nicholas Young and Margaret Cripps, 20 May 1766, Rathkeale 

• William Young and Catherine Barrington, 09 July 1769, St. Johns

• Jane Young and Evans Lee (Leigh), 05 Sep 1785, Limerick

With relation to the Heaphy - Young connections, there is the marriage of William Young (1865 - 1942) and Abigail Heaphy (1869 - 1900), Kilferagh, COI, Kilkee, Clare in 1892. There are however, earlier connections through other marriage relations, through Young - Delmege, and Young - Vokes, and possibly others yet undiscovered. 

The current earliest ancestry of William Young (1865 - 1842) of Coolfree, Kilfinane, Limerick is for a James Young, born circa 1786. James married Anne Bartman (1791 - 1881) in 1816, Limerick. Anne was the daughter of James Bartman. It is unclear if the following are siblings or/and cousins to James, however they are of the same time in Limerick: 

• Honora Young married Richard Adamson, Clarina, in 1809, COI and RC. 

• Jane Young married Adam Delmege, Adare, in 1806, COI. It is currently unclear if Adam is  a brother, but most likely a cousin of Mary Delmege (Dau of Henry Delmege and Anne Lowe), mother of Harriet Vokes, wife of Eyre Heaphy, Clarina. 

• Samuel Young married Rebecca Vokes, in 1801, COI. Rebecca is the 1st cousin of Thomas Vokes, father of Harriet Vokes, wife of Eyre Heaphy, Clarina. 

• Elizabeth Young married Andrew Vokes, in 1810, COI. Andrew is a possible relation to Thomas Vokes, father of Harriet Vokes, wife of Eyre Heaphy, Clarina. 

James Young and Anne Bartman had the following known children: 

i William Young (1821 - 1885). William married Maria Fizelle (dau of James Fizelle), on the 27 July 1853, COI. Maria is the daughter of James Fizell (1802 - 1868) and Mary Frances Ruttle (1803 - 1878, born Adare). William and Marie had the following children:

William Young (1865 - 1946). William married Abigail Heaphy (1869 - 1900) in Kilferagh, COI, Kilkee, in 1892. Abigail is the daughter of Eyre Heaphy and Jane Brew, and twin of George Francis Heaphy. William and Abigail lived Coolfree, Kilfinane. Children: 

Abigail Jane Young (1894 - 1927) Moved to Detroit, Michigan, US, 1920. Married Albert Waterland (1870 - 1962), from England. Children:

• Elsie May Waterland (V) (1926 - 1982). Married Earl E. Lindberg (B. 1923, son of Adolph Lee Lindberg (1893 - 1978 born Nabraska, US) and Victoria ? (1896 - 1985 born in Sweden), on the 15.11.1952. Moved to California, US. 

• Dorothy Waterland (1927 - 1927)

William Eyre Young (V) (1895 - 1977) William or better known as Bill, joined the Irish Rifles (1914 - 1921) and received a gunshot wound to one leg at Gallipoli, in 1915. Following his recovery he was sent to France and Belgium.  When he was discharged after the war, Bill sailed to the US, arriving on the 6th of March 1922 on a ship named the Baltic to join his sister, Abigail Jane, in Detroit, Michigan, US, in 1922. Bill married Isabella Cummings (B.1892), daughter of Thomas Cummings, from Scotland.

• Marian Cameron Young (1929 - 1995), Detroit, US. 

Following Abigail's death in 1900, William Young married Katherine Dwyer in May 1901, COI, Kilflynn, Limerick, and went on to have eight more children, with many of the family also moving to Detroit, US. Children: Richard (1901), George (1902), Maria (1903), Henry (1905), Samuel (1907), Katherine (1908), Emily (1909) and Helen (1910).
